eek He should just release a 3-CD set, like he did a few years ago with Funkadelic.

Yes, please!

In a perfect world the George Clinton Family Series would be up about Volume 50 by now...

We need some kind of P-Funk streaming or download service. There's so many projects and songs George has talked about that are still unreleased.

At one point, he said that he was gonna release the album in 2 or 3 parts but he might have changed his mind about doing that by now.

I think the new stuff sounds surprisingly strong. I've been missing the funk I guess.

I agree, these new songs are really strong. The best thing is,there’s not too much of a hip/hop sound....it’s just pure P-Funk.

hey, wasn’t ‘Shake The Gate’ released just before Christmas a few years ago? I remember they just dropped it really quick, taking many fans by surprise.Perhaps George is gonna do the same thing with this release.

unfortunately,no confused and that's what's so frustrating: George has been hyping this album up for a few years now and he even performs one of the new songs during recent performances.I'm still holding out hope, though, that we will have it before Christmas.

I don't think he realizes that there are so many of us who are starving for some gritty, hardcore FUNK! The REAL DEAL!

A bit like Prince with 3rd Eye Girl then... He hyped that band in 2013-14, doing guerrilla gigs, playing new songs live, getting everybody excited... And when the album(s) finally came out, the momentum was gone and nobody cared anymore.
Or maybe George simply has trouble finding the right record company? (I dunno, just guessing.)

At first,I thought that may be the reason, but he had no trouble finding a label to release the 3-CD 'First You Gotta Shake The Gate' album hmmm and he also just shot the video for the first single ("I'm Gonna Make You Sick"),so I'm pretty sure that a label is involved.

He knows we want the funk but doesn't care. Believe me, he's sitting on a mother load of unreleased stuff he likes to tease about. Like the unedited version of Parliament Live. Can you even begin to imagine what the LA and Oakland 77 gigs must sound like in their entirety instead of that cut up that came out on Casablanca?!?
Why he won't give it to us is anybody's guess.

I asked him personally one night back about 2001 did he realize how much we wanted stuff like that and he just kinda shrugged.

Mugg is on some totally other chyt.

I agree, that Parliament live album feels heavily edited.Plus,to my ears, the sound isn't as great as it should be.

Couldn't agree more. It doesn't really capture the greatness of a P-Funk show, especially then. I'd love to have a deluxe or super deluxe version of this album.

There is a whole holy grail of funk out there somewhere. The movie motor booty affair. All that video they cut at the United Nations. Don't get me started.

Are you sure those aren't bootlegs or "semi" official recordings?

They aren't official. If you search through amazon.uk you'll find these gray market releases for a lot of different artists. That said, I can't wait to get 'em!

Right, and he was a fan of Childish Gambino last album "Awaken My Love" I hope that spoke to him.

Before you bite on these "new" live releases be advised. From what I understand it's a fake out. The live MSG is really the Newburgh Sessions. That Bootsy Baltimore? Try Capital Centre Landover Maryland. And of course the other one is the Passaic anti tour probably ripped from the video.

Now if you don't already have em by all means go head. But in reality, there is nothing new here folks.

Someone needs to hold these folks accountable for these dishonest shenanigans.

George has just posted a video of him in the studio laying further vocals for the album, so it doesn't look like it will be released any time soon.

Not sure how many versions and mixes of these same tracks George has, but it seems endless. He seems to be a real tinkerer and remixer of late.

Thanks for the info.I'm glad I didn't order those CDs.
