I wonder why people post stuff like this on Youtube, when the TV networks are gonna take it down. ABC and some of their individual shows have their own channels.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Love The Dixie Chicks, Love B-Girl....Great performance, Great song...@ 5-minutes the song is too long...They could have ended it at 3min and I'm guessing they extended it becuz of all that Female Greatness on one stage....The song will be nominated for a GRAMMY & the song and the Duo/Group performance will probably win a GRAMMY...

I had gotten wind that Bey was going to be there. So I DVR'd it and FFwD through it later. (I did watch the first 10 minutes of the show, because hype.)

I was most surprised that the Dixie Chicks were on the show. After the comments about Bush (which no one seems to remember ended up being terribly true), and the fight with Toby fucking Keith (fuck that guy), the Chicks swore off the CMA because of how they were treated. It is a downfall of the good ol' boys club. It's all 'murrica, military, and muff. Can't be gay, barely be black, and certainly not have an out-of-the-box opinion on something. I almost instantly sided with the Chicks back then, knowing that 'murrica would side with the idea of war and violence, then realizing just how twisted and wrong the whole war was (and still is - what a farce!). Besides, their comment was about Bush specifically. And everyone was sucking ol' boy's balls back then.

I don't know if they've been back to the CMA until last night or not, but it certainly got my attention. I like the arrangement of the song. It lends easily to new bluegrass and country sounds, lyrically and musically. It reminds me of JT's collaboration with Chris Stapleton last year. JT is from Memphis, so those influences are already in his music.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

I watched some of the CMA's last night, but missed this performance as I was flipping around to other shows like the World Series, Law and order SVU, Chicago Fire and a basketball game, my remote was getting quite the workout, LOL! Thanks for posting, great performance.

The only reason Beyonce was there was to make it easier on the Dixie Chicks to take the stage.

IMO the Dixie Chicks should never have been there, let alone be on stage. mad

A lot of country fans and singers did not like that Beyonce was at the CMA's last night contrary to what the media is reporting. Beyonce was booed when the announcer annouced she was there and the country singers looked disgruntled during her performance and rightfully so IMO. I don't think it was racist. They were probably wondering why she was there for the 50th anniversary show when she is not a country singer.

This performance was boring and this is not even a country song. Um...did I see a different video from everyone else? The Dixi Chicks and Beyonce did not meshed well vocally and Beyonce was straining the entire time and making try hard country adlibs that were cringe worthy, awkard hand movements too.

There's a report out today saying Beyonce hates white people, cops (ditto), supports BLM (I do) and is trying to take country music away from them. I'm like "Please, take it far, far away!" Basically white folks lost their minds on Twitter. hahahahaha

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

I was just checking since this is Beyonce.org now. eek

This site is a joke. I bet not ever see another user bad mouthing Bruno Mars.

The country fans had a right to be upset. Beyonce is always interjecting herself inappropiately into things that are out of her realm. I think they were more upset with the fact that she was trying to take the spotlight away from Dolly and she had that ridiculous dress on. The song is dumb and not country. She should not have been there...period.

It is truly ridiculous. They have no idea where country came from. Apparently, Charlie Pride or Darius Rucker have been white-washed in their mind enough that they forgot there are black folks in country music. Beyonce isn't in country music, but did they scream last year when Justin Timberlake showed up and sang? I don't remember that backlash.

You missed the point.

The non country song was sung at the Country Music Awards 50 anniversary, they could have asked any country singer to sing up there for the special occassion.

Beyonce once again interjected herself and tried to make the event about her.

Like she did with Ledisi, like she did at the BET awards this year when Prince was being honored, Like she did at the MTV awards this year when Rihanna was being honored. Why does she get all these opportunities and why is she allowed to steal the shine from others?

Country singers and artists hardly ever get an opportunity to perform at other award shows which is why they have their own seperate award show to acknowledge country singers. Beyonce will always have opportunities to perform at other award shows, Im tired of her arrogance.

^^What's the difference in Beyoncé and other non-country acts performing at country awards or other country programs like Motley Crue, Eagles, Lionel Richie, Justin Timberlake, Steven Tyler, Nelly, Kid Rock, Bon Jovi, etc. The Pointer Sisters won a Grammy for country. They're not a country group, but they wrote and recorded a country song which Elvis Presley later remade.

You're so entitled. I find him ugly and his voice annoying. Many country music fans are racists, but very few (maybe none) of the modern country artists are. Most of them hate the Dixie Chicks and their annoyance in the audience was with them. Some notable country stars were enjoying it like Faith Hill and Trisha Yearwood.

Because they were outcast years ago and I'm still pissed at them. And yes, I was Dubya fan, but that doesn't mean I'm a Trump fan. smile

How?

I just find it hilarious that yall bash Adele and Bruno but love Beyonces trashy music. Thats not being entitled thats making an observation and there were a lot of other singers in the audience that did not enjoy the performance and it was very visible. neutral Sure all those country fans and country singers only enjoyed Beyonce on that stage. The Dixi Chicks have a big following and the country fans booed Beyonce when they announced that she was there. There is always some excuse for why some may not like Beyonce, no it was this, no it was that. Why is it so unbelievable that some country acts were not feeling her performance? They probably was trying to figure out what song they were singing.
