Co-sign to this. Compare with her ex-boyfriend's born-again Christian thing and his opiate addiction/fatal overdose (and what a lot of other male white rock stars used to do/still do), at least Maddy's okay, and isn't got any problems, health wise. Also, I'll be her tribute to Prince was good.

question

Her one-time boyfriend was Prince, if that's what you've got a questionmark about?

First of all, stop that delusion. Madonna never sold that much. You remind me of Elvis racist retards fans and MJ floons (I'm one BTW) who say they sold onebillionnilliontrillion records. They didn't just like Madge never sold that much.

Second of all, sales mean shit. If we go by that argument then Madonna is the superior artist to Prince...which is as reasonable as saying Himmler fancied jews. And I'm saying that as a MJ fan and nobody as a solo act sold more than him. I'm saying this as a part of the MJ standom, made of creatures who love using the argument of sales and records and numbers. The truth is that sales are no indicative of talent. I never denied I adore her music. In fact, I like Madonna and find her to be a humble woman. Likeable. But that doesn't make me blind to her talents, or lack thereof.

How about that it is over a dozen albums spanning thirty years? All ghostwritten? spit Seriously, that makes no sense.

I went to her Rebel Heart show earlier this year, and had such a great time i went to another show as well.

Her concerts are second to none, the energy and passion & professionalisim she brings to the stage has no rival in the pop game (i wouldnt classify Prince as purely "pop").

If you hate her cuz shes not behaving, fine, thats exactly how she became "madonna". By pissing people off at every turn. Sure her music doesen't always back up her antics anymore but so what. She's earned the right to behave however she likes imo.

This helps my argument that Madonna fans have a slightly low IQ. I said sales mean nothing. And I said this as a MJ fan, a guy who sold shitloads of cds and broke shitloads of records. Your argument? "Look at her sales!".

Prince didn't sell one third of what Madonna did. Does that mean she has more talent? Prince has more talent and musicality in his shat panties than Madonna in her whole body. And his sales don't compare.

I don't understand why people get mad at Madonna for the same things other celebrities do. Yea she does things for attention but I don't see how her attention seeking antics are any different from Kanye or Beyonce. IMO, there are a ton of singers that do things for attention in order to get you to buy their music. I at least appreciate Madonna is not fake about it.

At the risk of pissing people off i think Madonna embodied alot of what Prince did with the clean and healthy living and the spirituality aspect(with her its Kabbalah)...yes she lacked the immense talent but she is/was a hard working and clean living artist..There were never rumors about her doing drugs..i seriously doubt she will die of an OD..Shes been dancing onstage as long as Prince has, albeit without much of tbe same athletics. She must also have much of the pain associated with aging and intense physical activity onstage. Old she may be but outta the 80s Holy Trinity shes the only one still alive and shes a female still going strong in her career..The old adage must apply here to some degree...Woman have a much higher pain threshhold than men and live longer...I havent been a fan of hers for almost 20 yrs but tbe facts speak for themselves..

Madonna, Prince and Michae all three are unique and they had different childhoods and levels of superstardom. So its not fair to compare them. You never know what the future holds for Madonna but we should wish her well and pray for her. So many legends are leaving tragically.

Yeah, the OP was both sexist and ageist. Should she sit down because she's "badly aged"? What's the crime: aging, or aging badly? Should men who age badly sit down as well?

.

Yet Madonna herself feeds into it: a face full of fillers, and she's photo shopped back to the 90's everywhere you look. This isn't a woman who owns her age. Its an artist selling a lie - the image and brand of a person who litereally doesn't exist anymore. She ends up looking and sounding less mature in 2015 than she did in 1983.

.

My hope is that rather than "sit her badly aged ass down", she takes a turn out of Cher-land, and heads over to, say, Patti Smith-ville. To become comfortable in her own skin, embrace her past, and rediscover her voice and point of view. She could still be an exciting artist, if she weren't so insecure about losing her sex appeal.

The crime is in aging for everyone these days, but especially for women.

Well - her age shouldnt be the reason - Cyndi Lauper is touring and doing great work, but Cyndi can play and sing so there's that.

Madonnas worst sin rt now is she has nothing interesting to say. No wisdom worth listening to. She's so far from a rebel heart that its painful to watch her.

She says offensive things in recent years that are racist, and doesn't seem to care how this can make her two African children feel or what they have to answer to/put up with. Not realizing how this looks from a place of privilege when we all know she's definitely not a stupid woman is mind boggling to me. I get she's free to do what she wants, but have some self-respect. Cyndi Lauper isn't writing new music. She does cover after cover album. I don't think that's a good example for Madonna or anyone to follow.

You may not like it but at least Madonna still makes an effort to record new original music. Madonna still has a lot of things to say if you actually listen to her music or interviews.

Certainly, much more than Cyndi who only sings lyrics other people wrote now.

Also, I don't understand the double standards. People get all upset about how Madonna looks and how she's not "embracing her age".

But Cyndi Lauper uses a lot of Botox and other procedures to look young, as well as still wearing wacky clothes, but no one has a problem with that. Isn't Cyndi trying to hold on to a young look just as much?

People say Madonna should embrace her past, but she started out as a dance electronic artist. For some reason, people seem to think that's not an appropriate style for an older woman but that's what really excites her musically. Madonna does some serious songs, but she has always had a fun sexual side to her.

Do people really expect her to change into Kate Bush or Patty Smith? I think Madonna is quite comfortable in her skin, despite all the pressure by the media that she should be a different person just because she is older.

Cyndi has always looked like she looks and shes upscaled her style as shes gotten older without losing who she is...Cyndi has played recorded and written enough of her own material that adressing the fact she;s done covers is just not even worth it. Cyndi is incredibly talented in ways Madonna just isnt - thats just a fact.

Madonna hasnt changed her strategy as shes gotten older - thats why she appears desperate, she's become predictable and that makes her boring af. She still does everything the way she did it 30 years ago.

Im all for older women doing whater...I am one! (53) But from where I sit - she comes across like a 20-something and it appears as though she's not grown up or matured. I still go out and dance all night! I still rock a bikini! But.... big deal yo lolololol ....Madonna likes us to see her ass, when she was younger it was we should be free to do whatever...now its just tired. Ok Madonna - we;re used to your ass. If hse had saved her naked ass for being older...and to reveal NOW...well then you have a statement, but for Madonna its just another time we see her ass lolololol

So that casts doubt on her 'art' becasue it doesnt look, sound or feel organic anymore, it feels sounds and appears very mechanically rote. She's like an older Miley Cyrus lololol At some pooint you know even Miley will put her clothes on and rely on her VOICE --- Madonna is still stuckk in the attention whoring mode which is the provenance of 18-30 y/o ....and shes stuck there because she has no voice or vocal talent really, and outside of that... she doesnt have much of an informed opinion on anything happening politically or socially without making herself look like the rich, priviliged out of touch white lady she is.

Her being older is not the problem, her not having anything interesting to say IS the problem. Her being unable to navigate being older IS the problem and the more she avoids it the more desperate she appears.

this isnt to say she hasnt been incredible - of course she has...she still has a platform, but what she does with it is a big snoozefest.

I lose a part I can't get back
I want to hide
This is the part where I detach
Each time they write a hateful word
Dragging my soul into the dirt
I wanna die
Never admit it but it hurts

I don't wanna talk about it right now
Just hold me while I cry my eyes out
I'm not Joan of Arc, not yet
But I'm in the dark, yeah
I can't be a superhero right now
Even hearts made out of steel can break down
