Found a pre-order on Amazon for a NEW reissue of Off the Wall on vinyl that I think will come with the documentary... What's also very interesting is it says it's 2 disc and has spilt the tracks up into disc 1 and 2... This makes me hope that it's a double vinyl 45rpm version which would be insane. It says it's being released in May... Not sure whether to pre order with the lack of details https://www.amazon.co.uk/...8wbN7T5Z04" target="_blank">Off The Wall [VINYL] https://www.amazon.co.uk/...8wbN7T5Z04 [Edited 3/23/16 16:10pm]

I'm assuming it's referring to 2 disc meaning one of the discs being the DVD documentary and the other being the vinyl. Unless they are going to be cutting the vinyl to improve sound quality as historically they used to keep the record sides to a minimum so the sound wasn't compromised. They could be going with just two songs on each side of the 1st vinyl (Don't Stop & Rock with You on Side A, Workin' & Get on the Floor on Side B and then OTW, Girlfriend & She's out of my life on Side C & I Can't Help It, It's the falling in love & Burn this disco out on Side D on the 2nd vinyl). But considering they could probably have a high quality vinyl pressing emulating the original pressing there wouldn't be much need to go to the trouble of having new dub plates made etc. Found this article which is kinda off-topic but relevant to what's being discussed:

Is there a different between cutting at 45rpm for 7” and 33rpm for 12”?

No, it’s the same process. You’re still trying to cut it as loud as you can get it which is often dependent on the playing time, so that when you put the needle down the sound leaps off at you.

If you’re talking about an LP and it’s only 17 minutes long you’ve got a certain amount of room to fit 17 minutes of music in, so you can adjust the groove spacing and the groove depth accordingly and you can maybe get a bit more level on it. But in that same amount of room on another LP you might be trying to get 25 minutes of music, so you’ve got to cram the grooves closer together, they’ll be shallower grooves and you’ll probably be cutting it at a lower level as well because the cutting level – the volume that you’re trying to cut at – directly effects the speeds at which the cutter head moves across the lacquer. So if it’s a short record you can set that to move along quite quickly – on a 12” single you might only have 6 minutes of music – so you can cut deep grooves, turn the volume up and get a good, loud cut.

That was an interesting article.. I already have two original copies of Off the Wall... One has a perfect side A and the other has a perfect side B... I would be interfere in buying one more that is perfect for the whole album..

Thanks for the details Scorp. I don't understand the part where "to secure the agreement, he had to relinquish all of his assets, including his own music catalog". Why? I don't understand that part at all and do you have a source. Please share.

They're still doing a fine job with their recent touring, getting great reviews. It's nice to see them silencing the solo MJ stans a bit by getting out there and delivering some great performances to good crowds.

Yep, certainly here in the UK: http://www.theguardian.co...ons-review

I don't have the time to go digging for others right now, but great reviews on the Telegraph and Ticketmaster sites as well if I recall.

Nothing to be ashamed of, I would definitely pay to see them again, their casino tour was worth every penny. I was iffy at first cause of still grieving over mj and their interviews after the death upsetting me, but decided that should never take away from how much joy those jacksons albums brought me many years ago before the shitstorm, and went with my gut and had the time of my life smile

Amazing, he is nearly 65, Tito is 62 and Jermaine is 61. Marlon is the baby having just turned 59 and I don't even think he has a grey hair and still has those big ass lips.

.

And yet there is that Triumph tour video where Michael talks about he he is sick of playing those old songs, because they are old and Jackie is old (At the time Jackie was 29/30) and then Jackie shoots him a shocked look like WTF?
