It's hilarious that people have created a counterfeit scenario in their minds of Beyonce stealing some phantom career making "moment" from Ledesi when Ledesi was never slated to appear on the Grammy's at all. Do you get that?! She...wasn't...invited...to...perform...period. She wasn't a consideration. Beyonce or no Beyonce, the Grammys didn't want Ledesi. No one "took" anything from her. She wasn't going to get that stage. Hell, did she even have a ticket to sit in the audience and watch the show, or was she stuck watching it on the backstage monitors with the caterers?

Next, these embittered souls will be mad that Beyonce didn't take it upon on herself to act as Ledesi's agent and campaign for the Grammy's to invite her...just like they're still mad at Justin for not taking it upon himself to pick fights with the media on Janet's behalf so that his career could die along with hers. Don't get mad at these artists and their teams for being competent in playing the game of the chess that is the music business, while others are more inept. It would have been "nice," I suppose, if the Grammy's had extended Ledesi an invite to perform that song -- but they didn't. Boo-Hoo. You can't "steal" something that was unclaimed. If Ledesi wanted that "moment," then she should have asked for it. She didn't. Beyonce did, and she got it. No one owes Ledesi anything. Her career is for her to build. Take that sanctimoneous and idealistic appalled/bleeding heart shit elsewhere.

It's also hilarious how all this happened weeks ago now, the rest of the media/world got over this "controversy" shortly after the telecast, yet the embittered souls of long-pressed orgers predictably continue to moan as they pick at their own scabs over this. Heh. Well, bleed.

Very nicely put. Lets hope it puts an end to this
whole tired discussion. biggrin

This thread was over the last week but a fellow delusional stan bumped it, because they are mad not everyone is up Beyonce's twat. Like I said before, it doesn't matter if Ledisi was performing or not it's the PRINCIPLE of it all, but y'all keep making excuses for Beyonce and buying into her PR machine. I'm done with it though and I'll be sure to support Ledisi on her tour next month. wink

Right and its the same few butthurt, pressed stans that keep running up in this thread to defend their queen or rationalize her actions and call the folks calling her out embittered souls or some nonsense like that lol Beyonce is getting rightfully dragged because what Beyonce did was wrong--its just a matter of fact. Everyone can see that except her fanbase.

BeYAWNce needs to have several seats at this point. I think she was dead wrong for stealing the spotlight but her fans don't see it that way. After all, she is blameless. I remember about two weeks ago on Twitter I saw someone refer to her as God. Seriously?!?! GOD????????????? Am I missing something here? Since when was it okay to pretend this woman was Jesus Christ?

Honey, you said it all and Beysus paid it all.

But yes, what was Beyoncé supposed to do? Be more gracious than she already was and GIVE her whole performance slot to Ledisi?

Oh no wait HOLD ON. How bout you get your disenfranchised life in order before you EVER speak on my motivations.

I bumped this thread because the title is a lie and so is the headline of the article in the original post. I then proceeded to tell y'all (politely, for once!) what the actual factual was.

Instead of accepting the facts, y'all proceeded to spam my quote button with your endless delusions because y'all just can't be mad for no good reason in peace.

The PRINCIPLE is that the song isn't Ledisi's and anyone who wants to perform it can. But according to y'all, if I go to my church on Sunday and I choose to get up and sing "Take My Hand, Precious Lord", I need to call Ledisi (as opposed to, you know, THE DORSEY ESTATE) up to sing instead of me. Otherwise I'm stealing her spotlight, because fuck logic and sense. Girl please.

The Grammys chose Beyonce, so how can she ask for it? In all fairness, if anything, the people's personal beef should be with the Grammys. After all, they run the show and call the shots.

My life great and in order enough that I'm not living vicariously through celebrities that I get so offended that someone has a different opinion on them. In your mind an attack on "Beysus" is an attack on you personally because you want to be her and you want her life. Y'all wouldn't defend your own mamas like you do "Beysus". But go on and keep worshiping and throwing your money at "Beysus" while she gives no fucks about you. lol Bye.

If Beyonce had a shred of decency, she would have at least acknowledged Ledesi in some way....either during the performance or in an interview afterwards. She's proven to be a shameless,spotlight-stealing,attention whore. And this isn't the first time, either.

Beyoncé gives a fuck about ME, that's why she's constantly going on TV thanking the fuck out of her fans for supporting her. What you're mad about is that she doesn't give a fuck about you. And neither do I, and neither does Prince (whoo GOD, neither does Prince), and neither anyone else. And since you CLEARLY want some attention, I'll be that benevolent bitch to give it to you and Qazz can just bat cleanup if he or she wants.

Ledisi is an irrelevant, unknown nobody. Not ONE RIAA-certified record. Not ONE. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that Turn Me Loose went #1 on the R&B chart, but THAT'S IT. And that was six years ago. On the R&B chart. Ch.

Ledisi was not nominated for Best R&B Female Song because the award doesn't exist and never has. She wasn't nominated for Best R&B Song either. She was nominated for Best R&B Performance which she had NO chance of winning even if Beyoncé wasn't nominated because Usher, ChrisT Brown, and Foghorn Hudson were also nominated and all are previous Grammy winners and Ledisi is not.

And Beyoncé should get all the opportunities that she has earned. Anybody except blind, delusional haters (like y'all) can see she worked real damn hard to get as far as she has, and she should reap the spoils like anybody else who works. She was an AOTY nominee and got her performance spot and used it.

If Beyonce had a shred of decency, she would have at least acknowledged Ledesi in some way....either during the performance or in an interview afterwards. She's proven to be a shameless,spotlight-stealing,attention whore. And this isn't the first time, either.

You don't GET it. Beyoncé does not owe Ledisi SHIT. Not SHIT. For that matter, neither do John Legend nor Common. They didn't even work with her.

And Bey hasn't proven to be any of that shit except in your delusional-ass mind. And PLEASE bring up LeToya and LaTavia so I can shut that old wives' tale down in five seconds.

[insert a bunch of bullshit rambling]

LIKE I SAID. GET your disenfranchised life and that clitoris-like face in order before you EVER speak on ME.

Now go walk in front of a bus (instead of getting on it as usual) so we can all demonstrate how little we care. biggrin

I tried to be nice.
