All the Details on Robin Thicke's New Album
When Robin Thicke sang a new song, Get Her Back, at Sundy's Billboard Music Awards, it was an obvious plea to his estranged wife, Paula Patton, for a reunion. It also sparked rumors of a new album.

This guy works fast! Around the time that Blurred Lines was released,he mentioned that he had already started working on the next album.Looks like he wasn't lying.

It will be interesting to hear what he can produce and write by himself. I wonder how many songs about Paula are gonna be on the album Trolls be gone!

It'll be a return to the style of his earlier albums, which he wrote and produced himself.Blurred Lines was a commercial attempt to expand his audience and it worked, but I think Robin's more comfortable doing his own thing.I expect the songwriting to be interesting and very personal, since the break-up with his wife.

Yeah it will be interesting to hear what his sound will be, especially since he might be reflecting on his failed marriage. I don't expect there to be too many upbeat songs on it though. Trolls be gone!

It's to his advantage to put out fresh material as "Blurred Lines" has transformed him from a silky R & B balladeer into a worldwide star. If I were managing him, I'd would suggest he put new stuff out there and ''strike while the iron is hot.''

The follow-up to his No. 1-charting "Blurred Lines" will come out July 1.Robin Thicke’s campaign to get back in the good graces of his wife Paula Patton continues July 1 with the release of his seventh studio album on Star Trak/Interscope.The singer, songwriter and producer, whose last album, Blurred Lines, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 last year, propelled by the runaway success of the title track single, previewed the album with his performance of “Get Her Back” last Sunday on the Billboard Music Awards.Thicke took home four different honors that night, including Top Hot 100 Song, Top Digital Song, Top Radio Song and Top R&B Song for the chart-topping collaboration with Pharrell Williams and T.I.He also performed the song on The Voice finale Tuesday night with winning contestant Josh Kaufman. The new album was written and produced entirely by Thicke, who has released six prior albums and written and produced songs for such artists as Michael Jackson, Pink and Christina Aguilera.“Blurred Lines” climbed to No. 1 in over 100 countries and spent 12 weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100. It also broke radio records by climbing to No. 1 on five charts simultaneously (Top 40, Rhythm, Urban, Hot AC & Urban AC) — the first time an artist has ever accomplished this feat.Just Music-No Categories-Enjoy It!

Did Pharrell co-write Blurred Lines? I thought he did for some reason. Trolls be gone!

Marvin's children may wanna keep an eye on Thicke since he is now inspired to do a makeup album. Remember this was Marvin Gaye's divorce/breakup album in 1978. Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint

Robin Thicke already sued Gaye's estate last year "just in case" the estate wanted to sue first, LOL. It should be an interesting album nonetheless. Trolls be gone!

I don't know what the reason for their break-up is but it seems to be a drastic step to go on awards shows and release singles about it. I think the more he does this, the less she might want to take him back. Trolls be gone!

Paula will be the title of Thicke’s forthcoming album, as confirmed by media reports.

dayum....he really is serious about winning her back!

Yeah I'm wondering if he's going to have a CD of 10 songs saying "Come back to me...." I think it would be a total snooze fest with all ballads. I also wonder if this was a rush job on his part Trolls be gone!

Man, after all that Blurred Lines controversy.. he still made a good album last time out!

I think it was likely a rush, and frankly this whole "get Paula back" angle seems like more of a marketing effort for hismusic than a sincere effort to restore his marriage.

Okay, glad to know that I'm not the only one who is a bit cynical about this. I'm sure that he's sad on some level but it also seems like his capitalizing on his rocky marriage. He knows the public will eat up all the drama and read into every lyric on every song. But, as you said these seems like a marketing effort that will probably backfire either in his public life as a singer or in his private life as a husband. Of course he drops this tidbit of news just DAYS before Father's Day probably hoping it will woo Paula a bit, in the event that he will see her on Father's Day, assuming she will let him see her son that day. for his sake,I hope that these efforts actually work

From my perspective, I don't think he deserves a marriage if he doesn't respect it or treat his wife well. I'm sure she isn't divorcing him because he didn't write her enough songs...she is unhappy with their marriage. If he really cares, he needs to work on his marriage, rather than make a spectacle. But again, I'm cynical and think this is all just a show. The marriage is likely done, and he probably doesn't really care that much. [Edited 6/12/14 20:24pm]

Agreed. He knows it's over and is just taking advantage of the situation because it might sell albums. This shines a light on what this dude might be like in his private life. I wonder if she just got tired of his childish, self-centered antics. I say this as a person who actually likes his music....he kinda screwed up by suing Marvin Gaye's estate though. Makes me think he's a cocky son of a gun... Trolls be gone!

Tbh, I actually wonder if that's kind of an implicit reference in the album's name and the marketing 'narrative'. It's certainly something that soul music fans would be reminded of, and journos will likely mention the connection, etc; and it serves to cast him once again as a kind of modern-day Marvin, giving us the idea that he's a similar type of artist pouring his life into his songs. He was planning to drop the album BEFORE they split. He's serious about something...its called selling records and marketing his image. [Edited 6/13/14 9:10am]

I like Robin Thicke and don't perceive him to be a phony (re: Justin Timberlake) but the more he tries to imitate Marvin Gaye it takes away from his credibility as an artist. I think he needs to stick to building his own brand and stop trying to go the Marvin Gaye route. Trolls be gone!
