From my perspective, I don't think he deserves a marriage if he doesn't respect it or treat his wife well. I'm sure she isn't divorcing him because he didn't write her enough songs...she is unhappy with their marriage.

If he really cares, he needs to work on his marriage, rather than make a spectacle.

But again, I'm cynical and think this is all just a show. The marriage is likely done, and he probably doesn't really care that much.

let's give him the benefit of the doubt.I'm sure he cares deeply about his wife and his marriage.You can't "fake" that.

To me,this doesn't seem like a surefire way to sell records.The album is due in less than a month and there's not even a music video for the first single.A personal album directed to his wife doesn't seem like it's gonna have alot of commercial appeal,does it? If record sales were his primary concern,he would simply call up Pharrell and make "Blurred Lines Part 2" instead of a deeply personal album with low-key promotion.

My guess is that he's going to dig up some of his older songs that never made the cut on the album and use that as filler. The other 2-3 songs that he's going to try to turn into hits, in all likelihood, are the songs that he's invested the most time into turning them into hits. Maybe she will file the official divorce lawsuit when the album drops....Hollywood seems like a strange place.

So, this just as well might be the official cover art -- white text on a black background. Given the starkness of the image, I'm expecting an entire album of sincere, depressing ballads written in minor keys.

You're right, it's highly unlikely that this will be another Blurred Lines. Everything about this spells publicity stunt and a feeble attempt to "get her back". I don't know his wife at all but maybe she will be more annoyed with this than she'd be swayed by it. Take note fellas, sometimes laying it on "Thicke" (pun intended) can spell more trouble in the long run.

Paula looks like bootleg fan art. Is this album still on Star Trak/Interscope?

I'm actually surprised that his label is allowing him to do this.Seems like,after the massive success of Blurred Lines,they would have pressured him to make another commercial album.Everything about this new album is low-key.

I was thinking the same thing you were. This album might even set him pretty far back. Maybe they will shelve it the closer it gets to the release date.

Some people are skeptical,but to me,it appears that he is serious about saving his marriage,even if it means he'll have a low-selling album.Hopefully,his record company will stand behind this project.

It is really weird since "Blurred Lines" was an international #1 to be following it up with such a low-key album, but that's how he operated before Blurred Lines too.

They've given Thicke a lot of room to play around ever since they signed him in '05. Scattered successes here and there, but arguably the most obvious attempt at a more commercial, mainstream album was Sex Therapy (moreso than BL), and that didn't sell that hot.

I think Star Trak is just happy that Thicke had himself a monster hit in 'Blurred Lines', which also helped push Skateboard P. back into the public eye, but I wouldn't be surprised if they let him play his hand with this Paula album.

You got that right! Nothing better than personal drama to promote an album. Sad but true, ain't it? Seems that record companies love creating and exploiting drama in the lives of their artists.

^Okay, a couple of quick thoughts after my first viewing of this vid.

- Does anyone else think it's kinda tacky that Thicke is letting himself get rubbed down by a model who's playing a stand-in for Paula? I'd be pretty damn displeased if my ex I'd recently broken up with made a 'reconciliation' video that has another dude rubbing all over her bare skin.

- The song itself is not one of Thicke's best ballads. The verses are all right, honestly, but the song as a whole just drones on and on.

-Is that supposed to be a human heart held in the palm of a hand at the 3:20 mark? Very disturbing imagery.

I've been a supporter of Thicke's since 'Get You Alone', I muchly enjoyed the Blurred Lines album in spite of the accusations of misogyny on the lead single, and I was expecting something sincere and heartfelt from this Paula project. But this single 'Get Her Back' and its video just don't give me a good vibe at all. Bad Thicke. No biscuit.

I love the direction of this new record based off the first single and the fact that he is the only producer, some of his best work is self produced and written.

The Paula story line is sad.

This is coming full circle to his debut album sonically and also as he placed a picture of her on the album cover and explained that she was the reason for him being happy and why he looked at the world as a beautiful place. She has always been centre to his music.
