The Metallica performance wasn't great at all.

Two big reasons were:

Lars' drumming is so inconsistent and out of time.

One of the guitars sounded out of tune to the piano!

Music, sweet music, I wish I could caress and...kiss, kiss...

This is a fucking joke!!

Kendrick wins NOTHING eek eek ! Like, y'all went "Let's prove the world there are other white rappers than Eminem" and you decided to give him 3 RAP awards! Not that I care but how the fuck could they ignore Good Kid Maad City!! Hell! The Heist is not even a hip hop album it's fucking pop mixed with so called rap mad

Congrats for Bruno on winning Best Vocal Album, he had the best pop album in the category and deserved the honor, also, Record of The Year should have gone to him since Daft Punk already had AOTY in the bag, like, why honoring them twice in the big field? I never understood the sweeping thing, like, 4 big awards, give them to 4 different acts.

Macklemore is a joke tbh, and who's Ryan Jewish? He just could've been a producer of Mack's work, he does nothing, he's just there to be with Mack! What kind of ass licking is this?

Yeah, considering all the critical and public acclaim "Good Kid Maad City" received, I thought he'd at least win something, even if it was down to just the Rap/Hip Hop categories. Even the Macklemore guy said that Kendrick's album was better. Kendrick getting shut out further discredits the Academy's legacy for favoring politics and money over talent. Can't say I'm completely surprised but I was hoping the kid got some recognition.

Hope he's not sweating it though....

Didn't catch the whole thing, but Lorde is definitely the most interesting performer I saw go up there to get an award.

Don't like Pink. Her Cirque du Soleil shit, male model, with her "spirit pep talk" pop anthems get on my nerves. I do like "Fun" though.

I'm also not a fan of getting multiple different genre performers all up on stage to perform some medley (seeing Lindsey Buckingham perform on the same stage and number as Trent Reznor really feels bad). It kills the mystique of the individual acts and their various fan bases, and exposes the artificial backbone that is all corporate puppet strings instead of some cool unique pioneering individual vibe.

My wish: Stop the multiple performer teamup performances on music awards shows. They are not cool.

But Lorde... pretty cool.

Hmm, it's interesting how folks all over the net didn't really like the Metallic & Lang Lang performance. So I looked up a live version with Metallica performing the song "One" by themselves...and I guess I can see what their most devoted fans are saying (though I still think the collab performance last night wasn't bad at all):

VS. Last night's performance

I didn't see the entire show, but I will watch the rest tonight.

Not a bad show, although I was bored with Beyonce and Jay-Z. Not only did their performance remind me of something Kanye & Kim would do given the chance, she was lip-syncing through most of it. I thought it was kind of lame.

I guess I don'y get Lorde shrug. I've seen her on a few shows recently and that song does nothing for me.

Robin and Chicago were great and so was Gary Clark Jr and Keith Urban. I will watch the last 90 mins tonight.

Pharrell looked cute. I liked his interview with the Canadian press.

Seeing Buckingham with NIN was pretty much the only reason I watched the show. But I don't think it was a forced collaboration; he played on the new NIN album. I thought his playing added something to an underwhelming song...

Grohl's "Sun City" documentary is responsible for some interesting collaborations.

Well, I didn't know that he played on the new NIN, so that does make it a bit better... but I just feel these collaborations and crossfiltration appearances destroy what's interesting about pop music to me, different flavors, identities, and audiences. They should be sharply drawing lines to further strengthen their identities, not all collaborate to mix it all up. Mix up all the colors and you get... corporate gray.

Robin should have won song of the year though.

At least Bruno walked away with something...

Tobey Carter did NOT deserve a single grammy last night. They should have given that nod to Kendrick especially if they were going to snub him for best new artist.

Can someone explain to me how Mrs. Tobey got a nomination when she released her album passed the eligible date? lol They just being blatant with it now, they dont give a %*^& lol

If I was Kendrick I would not sweat it. The payola clique are buying their grammy's and nominations

Now as far as the The Big Pink Elephant in the room, Maybe Kendrick Lemar should have named his cd "Gay Kid F.A.A.G City." Then he would have needed a U Haul to carry home all his Golden Trophies. The Grammy's slapped Hip Hop fans in the face with that Macklebore bullshit. I know traditional Conservative Christians heads exploded with that homosexual ceremony going on during a family show. The Grammys don't allow lip syncing sooooo... yeah. Plus you can tell she's singing because of the starts and stops, the runs and the proposed audience participaton. Stuff that you can't put in a pre recored track and lip sync to flawlessly

Grammy TV ratings remain solid for CBS

Bill Keveney, USA TODAY 2:29 p.m. EST January 27, 2014

The music awards show drew its second-largest audience in 21 years.

SHARE 10 10 1 COMMENTMORE

Sunday's star-laden Grammy Awards once again proved to be a musical hit for CBS, drawing 28.5 million viewers, according to preliminary Nielsen ratings.

The 56th annual honors, which featured performances by Beatles Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr and parents Beyoncé and Jay Z, topped last year's show by 100,000 viewers and recorded the second-biggest Grammy TV audience in 21 years. The show, which lasted 3 hours and 45 minutes, also featured the weddings of 33 gay and straight couples as Macklemore and Ryan Lewis performed Same Love.

The 2012 Grammys, which took place a day after singer Whitney Houston died, drew 39.9 million viewers.

Sunday's show, which featured wins by Daft Punk, Lorde and Macklemore and Lewis, held fairly steady in young adults, too, down just 2% compared to last year among the 18- to 49-year-olds prized by advertisers. The broadcast also ranks as the biggest social television event of the current TV season, recording 15.2 million tweets during the broadcast in the Eastern and Central time zones, according to SocialGuide.

I think the collaboations/medleys are the best part of the Grammys. It's a good way to educate the young viewers on what real music sounds like lol Carole King was there performing with some young artist and it was a good performance.Stevie Wonder with Daft Punk was also a great idea that truly worked. Some of these young acts really aren't that good. They actually benefit from being onstage with a seasoned veteran, lol.

This shows that people have not really been watching the show over the last 20 years which is why they are hyping the little increase they got this year. lol

Also, I am more interested in how long people tuned in or tuned out. Did 28.5 viewers watch the entire 3 hour award show?, noo..
