Forget Top 10 lists, just tell us: what is your 1 favorite Album of 2013

and i don't mean the critically acclaimed hipster choice

or whatever, just the album that you ENJOYED most of

all this year. the one you can't stop listening to.

.

my choice would be Lorde "Pure Heroine". man i love

that album. listened to it all the way through about 50

times by now. and i like every minute of it.

.

haven't seen her mentioned here on the org yet, or i've

probably missed it. maybe you never mention her just

because you don't care or hate her lol

.

whatever. tell me which album you ENJOYED most this

year and let's see if that can make us all check out an

album we haven't heard yet this year.

SoulAlive

Blurred Lines by Robin Thicke. It's one of the few 'new' albums that I bought in 2013.I mostly listen to old school music lol Robin's album is filled with jams, never really slowing down until the last few tracks.I like that.I needed some great uptempo jams and Robin delivered.

I bought way over hundred CDs this years

...however ....only a handful are from 2013, so not much to choose from lol but even if it' not a lot, it is still a tie, can't decide between those two. so ask me again on Dec 31st

Gotta be New by McCartney, RAM by Daft Punk or Janelle's Electric Lady.

I go with Electric Lady due to the anticipation & the style.

The electric lady( janelle monae), random access memories( daft punk)..

I still need to listen to the next day by bowie, I don't know why...I kinda liked the reflektor by arcade fire but not like the electric lady and random access memories..

other honorable mentions but not really mainstream: pushing against a stone( valerie june), silence yourself( savages),and some others that I'm surely forgetting at the moment..

I love that a lot of music critics put my albums in their charts..but I don't approve the overhype for kanye west and haim records I'm seeing around( in these charts)

Vampire Weekend - Modern Vampires of the City.

Eight months later and I still can't stop playing it. It's fast becoming one of my favorites of all time. I always loved these guys, but wasn't expecting this kind of album from them yet. Phenomenal!

This probably won't be on any of the critics' lists, but the album I listened to this year the most was Girl Talk by Kate Nash.

that's a lot of cd's you bought eek

to be honest, i've never even heard a single song by Mayor Hawthorne,

it's just one of those names i keep reading and think "i should probably

give that a listen". but now I will, especially since you put that album in

the same catagory of greatness as janelle's album - which is really good!

where "Step" is filed lol i just kept it on repeat for hours and

hours and hours. it just happens to by my favorit but that is a

very good album indeed.

I could listen to 'Step' 20 times a day for the next year and still not tire of it.

I really haven't bought or even heard a lot of albums that were released in 2013 but I have hammered Lorde 'Pure Heroine'. It helps that it is the same duration as my drive to work - pretty much the only time I get to listen to anything these days.
