Blurred Lines by Robin Thicke. It's one of the few 'new' albums that I bought in 2013.I mostly listen to old school music lol Robin's album is filled with jams, never really slowing down until the last few tracks.I like that.I needed some great uptempo jams and Robin delivered.

I agree, although Thicke has presently fallen out of favour with me, I think Blurred Lines is a fine little album. It is perhaps his least ambitious work, though, in the sense that it doesn't try to make a statement like Love After War did, or tries to be a style re-invention like Something Else was. It's just a fun party album for the most part, with one foray into ballad territory, which is perhaps Thicke's greatest ballad in years ('4 The rest Of My Life').

What were your favourite tracks? I was quite impressed with the combo of 'Ooo La La', 'Ain't No Hat', and 'Get In My Way', with 'Ooo La La' winning by a nose for me.

I bought AM, spun it, and didn't "get" it. What I liked about Arctic Monkeys on their first and second go-arounds, Whatever People Say and Favourite Worst Nightmare was their rawness in comparison to the other Britpop acts that were hitting the charts at the time and were mainly emulating New Romantic (though doing a good job at it too, I loved Maximö Park and Kaiser Chiefs). The unforgiving realism from their debut and the spitfire wit from their sophomore album are things that I feel are missing from AM. Or maybe I just can't handle a more mature, more sophisticated Arctic Monkeys. I'm holding on to the album for future listening.

Now for my own choice for this thread, it would have to be Settle by Disclosure. I love that it features so many voices from the British pop/soul scene that are not necessarily in the public eye all the time. Sam Smith and Jamie Woon for example. Excellent vocalists, and the tracks they guest on are my favourites from the album, beside the singles that had AlunaGeorge and Eliza Doolittle on them.

This has been the all time best year of new music for me personally. My definite favourite has been Avalanche by Quadron.

Other great albums this year were made by Bilal, Rhye, Suede, HIM and Jose James.

from it a lot more than actually giving the entire album a spin. but it's

a good album, that's for sure.
