the Jacksons make themselves an easy target.

ain't it the truth? i can't think of a worse location to volunteer to perform in at this point in 2013.

Serbia? Afganistan? Egypt?

Children are being poisoned in some of these places - I think perhaps they may be just a tad worse than Russia at the moment.

Yes, the gays are being discriminated against, but this will not stop many acts (big or small) performing in Russia in the near future.

how typical of these clowns to perform in moscow in the current climate lol

seriously, this family is messed up.

why can't they just tour america and europe, where most of their fans are

anyway?

it's like they just can't help themselves, wanting to attract a shit storm falloff

Why are people so disrespectful to the Jacksons? It's so tiresome and uncalled for.

I highly doubt Janet would do this anyway, pretty much 90% of things written about her in the last 2 years have been untrue.

This. They're a family of entertainers. Whatever fucked up things go on in their personal lives (and there have been some doozies...), it still does not equate making judgements about them as people. Besides, whoever has a perfect family should be the first to cast a stone.

I doubt this is true as far as Janet is concerned either, because she's still working on her new record (Bangladesh just stated that he's doing a track on the album). If she does take part in it, she will likely do her own set.

Why would anybody have a problem with this?

The only funny part is how the announcement says that anybody who buys a ticket can meet the Jacksons, lol

indeed, what's up with that? falloff

well technically they get to meet them if they're at the concert and the jacksons say "hello"

but the promotors got a little too enthousiastic is my guess. better re-word that lol

A promoter couldn't get away with that here. lol

I've shook my head for over the past two decades

a family who's been in the public eye since 1969, a family who has never really been in serious trouble during the years when this stuff meant something, when the spotlight was at its brightest

and they've been f****d with with impunity for absolutely no legit reason

urban radio tags them on the regular to get browning points, to pump up their careers

commercial radio lambasts when they don't have a clue what the situation is....

and the public at large tees off when this family has done nothing to a soul.......

I would like to see how the family of a common day person would react if they were suddenly the subject of all out scrutiny, they'd cry their eyeballs out

Russian is my native language. wink

Organizers say it is credible information and called the show "tribute to their legendary brother, the King of Pop, Michael Jackson."
Ticket prices range from 2,000 rubles (60 USD) to 12,000 rubles (360 USD).

in the announcement they write:
Concert The Jacksons & Janet Jackson in Crocus City Hall is dedicated to the most popular member of the Jackson family - Michael Jackson, who died in 2009. It will feature the legendary hits of the King of Pop in the performance of the closest people to him.
At the concert, the audience will hear the songs "Billie Jean", "Black Or White", "Smooth Criminal", "Beat It"; "Liberian Girl", "You Are My Life" and many others.

and yes, you can buy a ticket for the concert, which will take place (or not ...) in December 2014
although the central Russian newspapers and news channels (which are usually widely reported events surrounding MJ) almost did not pay attention to this event.

IT'S FAKE!

I got an conformation from the PR of the venue in which this "should happen". Remember: JANET WILL NEVER PERFORM WITH HER BROTHERS NOR DO A TRIBUTE SHOW TO ANY OF THEM.

----

No one ever influenced the American radio and TV industry like JANET Jackson did. JANET has left a larger impact both culturally and politically than any other pop star because of a one off performance at America's biggest sporting event back in 2004. The echoes of that fantastic performance are still resonating and we are ready for a spectacular celebration, marking the 10th anniversary next year. Here are some facts.

^^I figured it was fake. lol

That article is right. Every SB performance since J's in 2004 is somehow compared to hers. Let alone she began the whole "wardrobe malfunction" trend.

WAIT A MINUTE

You compare Serbia (an official candidate for membership in the European Union, which entered the EU accession talks procedure) with Afghanistan and Egypt? eek All the biggest stars were here having concerts, many of them more than once: Madonna, Rihanna, Tina Turner, The Rolling Stones, Sting, J.Lo... Beyonce even started her latest world tour in Serbia! http://www.vibe.com/artic...sty-outfit

-----------------

SERBIA is also the host of one of the World's biggest festivals http://www.exitfest.org/e...e-fortress

-----------------

That being said, I don't think that anyone would be interested for The Jacksons (without Michael) in Serbia.

You need to get some knowledge dude. Serbia is regular destination for all big stars, and an average European country. razz
