Wish she didn´t do this, she doesn´t need to be in a tribute band.

What I get from reading Leonard Rowe's books (who is the Jacksons' long time concert promoter). Janet became open to tour with her brothers due to the fact that she didn't have the demand to sell out stadiums/arenas during the mid 2000's.

here's the excerpt from his book discussing Janet

On February 14th of 2007, I was in my kitchen fixing breakfast around 8am, and I received a call. I wondered who it could be that early, but it was too early for me to talk, so I didn’t answer. My phone beeped and I knew a message had been left. It was a message from Janet Jackson, Michael’s sister. She said, ‘Rowe, this is Jan. Would you please call me as soon as possible, it’s important.’ I said to myself, ‘I wonder what she wants this time of morning.’ I immediately returned the call and Janet answered. She was in Atlanta, and said, ‘Rowe, I’m in a little trouble; my tour has been cancelled by Live Nation, and I’m obligated to my band. They have blocked their time out this summer to tour with me. And now, if I don’t tour they will be missing income.’

She then asked, if we could go out on tour and do twenty shows. I knew very well why Live Nation had cancelled. It was because at the time Janet was cold as ice. I did not believe she had the drawing power to tour at that time, but I could not help but think about how much Michael and her brothers the Jacksons had done for me earlier in my career. Because of my appreciation and gratitude, I knew I would do whatever was needed to help Janet. Even if it meant losing everything I owned and possessed, I truly would have done it. It was very painful to me, when later I found her to be unappreciative of my efforts. Being a black concert promoter in the concert business, ‘we have always had to learn how to take lemons and make lemonade.’ I told her to give me a few hours to think and I would call her back later that day. I pondered over her problem all afternoon, and I came up with three scenarios. I knew Michael had returned to the states. He was now living in Las Vegas.

I later called her and said to her, ‘I’m going to Las Vegas, talk to Michael, and see if I can get him to get back with the brothers and tour. If he agrees to do that, I want you Janet, to be the opening act.’ Janet loved the idea. She asked me when I was going to Las Vegas. I told her I was going in a few days possibly Saturday. She asked if she could meet me there because she was flying back to Los Angeles, and would have her driver bring her to Las Vegas, so she could be there when I arrived that morning.

Not sure how authentic the article is but if it is true...sad to see how things turned out for Janet (its not bad that she is performing with her brothers but it doesnt seem like she is interested in new music or rebuilding her career--- the article might not be true though

*******************************************************************************

I really really do feel for Janet because she IS underrated, she does deserve alot more respect and it seems she has burnt alot of bridges within the industry. However, it is really hard to feel completely bad for someone in her position given all the questionable things she has done herself that seem to have come back to bite her in the ass. nuts There were many many public reports and even documentations that show that Janet has been trying to tour with MJ and her brothers for years (so this is not new which is why if this is true its not that surprising). Its clear that all those meetings with her and Michael were strictly about persuading him to tour with her and the Jacksons so SHE could make up for HER lost money because she couldnt sell out those arenas/stadiums. Those meetings were not for any other reason. I'll just leave it at that and keep it moving...

its not exactly an article. It similar to Ticketmaster but for concerts/events that occurs in Russia. This is just a description for the show Janet & her brothers suppose to do in december of next year.

They provided a number to order tickets & ask further questions about the show. (495) 748-93-37

but wait a minute though

let's revisit

Michael Jackson performed in Russia TWICE.....

in 1993, and 1996.....the nation was undergoing political turmoil on a greater level than what we see now....

he performed in a nation that had recently experience destabilization a year after the fact, as the former SOVIET UNION collapsed, in 93, the country was in the process of drafted a new constitution, how much more volatile can it get than that....

didn't nobody call MICHAEL a clown when he performed there

this man even performed in SOUTH AFRICA which was still practicing Apartheid economics when he did so

if we gone call it out, we have to call everything out

oh, and by the way, Janet doesn't have to do one single show

she's sitting on top of a billion dollar manifesto for the ages.......... biggrin

and his brothers deserve their good fortune after their careers were sabotaged beginning back in 1991

Janet can always go back to acting. She's done film in past years. Maybe she'd do tv again IF she was interested. She's a newlywed married to a rich hubby. She really doesn't have to do much of anything, unless she wants to. shrug

I have decided that the Jacksons are government agents, and that's why they're in Moscow. Tada!

Anyone read Latoya's last book? She said she was used as a drug mule before 9/11, and she had a code name.

I can't make this shit up!

i was wondering why janet would do this. but perhaps she just really

wants to do something with her brothers. they all know that one day

another one of them might be gone. might have made them tighter

for it.

Maybe if Janet stopped doing music that required, closed captions and listening devices, she would become a viable tour option again...smh.

Why would anybody have a problem with this?

The only funny part is how the announcement says that anybody who buys a ticket can meet the Jacksons, lol

indeed, what's up with that? falloff

well technically they get to meet them if they're at the concert and the jacksons say "hello"

but the promotors got a little too enthousiastic is my guess. better re-word that lol

I don't know why Janet would tour with her brothers, unless she us trying to help them out finanicially. I also do not believe Janet is billionaire in her own right, without the wealth of her husband, even Forbes debunked that myth.

Why are people so disrespectful to the Jacksons? It's so tiresome and uncalled for.

I highly doubt Janet would do this anyway, pretty much 90% of things written about her in the last 2 years have been untrue.

A few years ago, weren't the brothers trying to say that Janet was going to do a show (or even a bunch of shows) with them, and then it turned out that wasn't the case? I mean, I don't know. They can be pretty shady, and Russia doesn't really have the type of commerce regulations the US and Western Europe have, so I feel like it's entirely possible that this place could be selling tickets without having a final confirmation. Or they could even have gotten the Jackson brothers' word but not Janet's -- it seems like they have a history of volunteering their more famous siblings for shows that usually don't happen. razz

I know very well the situation in Russia and the tastes of the Russian public, so I am sure that The Jacksons or Janet are not able to collect a large audience hall in Moscow ... so the only option - is to make a joint tribute to their brother.

Yeah, I was wondering about that. I love Janet, but I know she's not huge in Russia. I don't know, I also think it's strange that none of them have said anything publicly about it yet. I guess we'll see.
