So The Federal court sentenced Lauryn to 3-months in Prison & 3-months home-confinement. She could have gotten 3yrs. I feel the Sentence is a bit tough considering this is her first time breaking the Law. I wonder if she got the Minimum Sentence or the Minimum sentencing that the Judge wanted to render according to Law.

I love Miss Hill...Not paying your taxes regardless of your status can mean your paycheck or freedom or BOTH. I hope her children are taken care of when she leaves. I do feel sorry for them.

Maybe I'm just soft-hearted, but I feel a little sorry for her. She's not living in the real world. To bring up the slavery thing is proof of that. I think she suffers from depression from the stories we've read about her behavior over the years. She needs someone in her life that will tell her the truth and help her get back to a better, more realistic frame of mind.

I really do feel for her children. One is just a baby, correct? They are innocent in all of this, and they don't/won't understand. Sad. What the parents do, or don't do affects their kids.

There's their grandmother (Lauryn's ma). I don't know, something tells me those kids grew up at their grandma's house... I don't know, they seem distant from their parents. I remember when Lauryn brought her kids onstage one time and they all looked confused (especially Zion, he was looking at the crowd like he hadn't seen a crowd before). Chris Rock's confused look in the background said it all for me.

And yeah the only people I feel for are her kids. That's it.

I am not sure that those kids are distant from their folks. one of rohan and lauryn's daughters was in a mag and she talked about how she was talking to her dad about being a model, etc, etc. I didn't get the feeling the daughter was distant from either parent

I agree. A woman Lauryn's age and Celeb status doesnt give birth 6 times for no reason. The average woman that is married has that many kids because she always Dreamed of a Big family. I've seen old pics with Lauryn & her Rug rats piled on stage. I think it's more likely that wherever she goes they go with her. Just because she wasnt responsible with paying her taxes does not mean she's a bad mother.

I'm sure you know Lauryn was a working Entertainer before she blew up as a Group/Solo Artist. Granted she started out young like a lot of Celebs. The fact that she chose to record less after she started a Family does not mean she didnt do anything with her Gift. None of us knows what Lauryn & her Family did together during her years away from the recording studio. So many people in showbizness go away and come back all the time. It's odd that you're angry at Lauryn for choosing to record whenever she felt like it. Since her financial situation was made public we're all free to Judge her for being irresponsible because the end result did cost her her Freedom. Discrediting her Talent is irrelevant to any Public statement she made after the Court ruling.

Right on!!! If someone working at McDonalds weren't paying their taxes, they probably would have received a harsher sentence.
