Seriously! this is probably the best picks for AOY since Kanye & U2 where going against each other(And yes Mariah, Paul Mccartney & Gwen to)

Or when Radiohead, Eminem, Steely Dan & Paul Simon where going.

I really think Frank is going to win... No album on that list had the hype of orange.

And although it's cool to see white get a nom smile , i think he would be chosen last confused

If not AOTY, he'd least get Best Rock Album. Least I hope so. pray I actually love the overall nods this year especially in the R&B categories. nod

I was reading through the complete list of album of the year winners....

Interesting to note Stevie Wonder was the first black artist to win for album of the year.

I never totally noticed that, it had been all white artists or bands that won until 1974 when Stevie won for Innervsions.

lol I knew that for years. Until then, black artists did win Record of the Year but never Album of the Year. I think Stevie was nominated to make up for the backlash they received after failing to nominate Marvin in that category for What's Going On in 1971.

Actually the first black artist to win the Album of the Year was Billy Preston on a technicality because he was one of the performers on the Concert for Bangladesh album. I read somewhere that whoever sung on a record got that Grammy (The Bodyguard and Santana's Supernatural were the only exceptions to that rule).

Oh yeah... it's weird that a live album won album of the year that time lol

Ah. the grammys give awards to pop tarts ALL the time. Beyonce, Chris Brown, Brittany Spears etc Just because Rihanna hasnt gotten one doesnt mean the grammys dont. The grammys over the last 10 years has catered to majority mainstream. We have had fantastic albums done by great artists that have been snubbed because of this so lets not act like this isnt a phenomenon with the Grammys lol Last year the grammys tried a different formula but it still has a lot of work to do as far as im concerned anytime Chirs Brown wins R&B album of the year over Kelly Price, R. Kelly and El Debarge

With that being said, im happy for Frank and the other nominees that have been recoognized for a change

I didn't know Dr. John and Joan Osborne were still recording music...

Although it appears that they TRIED to do better with their nominations this year. They still nominated Rihanna for BEST POP SOLO PERFORMANCE? I know she won't win but that slot could have been given to a more deservant artist.

Good to see more artists nominated who hadn't sold a millon copies get nominated. We'll still have to see if quality actually WINS over quanity though.

Shout out to First Lady Michelle Obama for her nomination. (Although I doubt she'll win) Rachel Maddow, Bill Clinton and Ellen are stiff competition.

Surprised to see Robert Glasper Experiment nominated for Best R&B Album.

I see the Grammys are still spellbound by Mrs. Carter w/nominating "Love On Top". I guess it really is mandatory to nominate her if she has product out.

What up Nasir?! Too bad Jay & Ye will probably take 'em home though. (Judging by Grammy history of course).

Glad Jack White and Frank Ocean got the nods they got.

Yea its mandatory to include Beyonce even if she had an album or song out that came out the year before razz They will cheat, twist, and make loop holes just to nominate or give her a grammys, dont have a clue why but the ass kissing is getting old and pathetic.

They could have nominated ANY R&B song that exactly came out in 2012!! Mint Condition Believe in Us, R. Kelly Feelin Single, Charlie Wilson or any of Kem songs instead of Love On Top...(I dont particularly like Kem) but Kem is played on HEAVY I mean HEAVY rotation on adult R&B stations for over the last 2 years its mindblowing how he has yet to be nominated in that category.

Hey, at least she didn't win one last year. So there's progress. lol

BTW, according to The Dream, looks like she's gearing up to dominate next year. Starting around the Super Bowl time. Your favorite artist will be all over radio before her halftime show lol
