Hey, at least she didn't win one last year. So there's progress. lol

BTW, according to The Dream, looks like she's gearing up to dominate next year. Starting around the Super Bowl time. Your favorite artist will be all over radio before her halftime show lol

I wonder how artists like Prince, Stevie Wonder, WAR, Aretha Franklin, Patti, etc all who have little grammys except Stevie and Aretha feel about all these artists having more grammys than them for making shit music just because their popular. razz

Although the grammys are meaningless, I probably would feel some kind a way a little bit.

Like damn I work my ass off to complete these albums just to be rewarded nothing but all these today artists work on albums in less than a year or months time and get a zillion grammys for it and the music is not even good lol

lol nah Frank got this or maybe Hunter. I can't see it giving it to her. Not saying it won't happen or that it isn't possible (because it is) but I just don't see it for now. razz

[Edited 12/6/12 0:42am]

How will you feel/react if she wins? I just think it would be insane and ridiculous. I think she has a chance though becuase of her Beiber connection and it was a massively huge hit and you tube sensation. Damn, we are living in sad times. sad

If she wins there should be riots in the streets! biggrin

In terms of sales, TBY was the hit so it's understandable. Pyramids should've gotten SOTY nods, I like that song.

To be nominated for a Grammy.

http://www.mtv.com/news/a...raun.jhtml

Here's part of the article from MTV...

Bieber dropped Believe back in June, and neither the album nor any of its singles received a nod from the Recording Academy. Braun made it clear that he was pleased that Carly Rae Jepsen and her track "Call Me Maybe" got two nods. Fellow Schoolboy Records acts, the Wanted and Psy, also didn't receive any nominations, but Braun focused his frustration on Bieber.

He wrote, "first...congrats to @ . thought u deserved a best new artist nom, but proud Call Me Maybe got u 2 noms. so proud of u. second....this time there wont be any wise words, no excuses, I just plain DISAGREE. The kid deserved it. Grammy board u blew it on this one. the hardest thing to do is transition, keep the train moving. the kid delivered. Huge succesful album, sold out tour, and won people over... ...this time he deserved to be recognized and I dont really have any kind nice positive things to say about a decision i dont agree with."

Most of these nominations are just plain sad.

Other than a small amount that truly deserve a Grammy, the rest are nothing but pop trash.

I can remember the days when a Grammy really meant something. I would always buy the Album of the Year after it was announced (if I didn't already have it). These days, I can't even be bothered to watch the show unless someone great is performing.

Pryamids was a dope song. Beginning to end. Period. I loved the storytelling, the transition. Too bad he, Def Jam or both decided to go the route they did with their video treatment for the song.

First of all you eliminated the entire first half of the song and focused on the second probably because it was more radio friendly to your target audience. Since the song was long, I always thought that the first half should've been edited for Pop/Crossover radio and leave the 2nd for the "Urban" markets. Wishful thinking I know but that was my initial assessment of how to best promote the song.

That could've killed the momentum of the song but I still think it needed a SOTY nod regardless. Oh well lol

"Love On Top" was officially released as a single in December 2011 (which makes the song eligible for nomination in 2012). That's how it works.

Kem was nominated last year for his album, but he lost out.

R. Kelly did get a nomination for Best R&B Album for "Write Me Back."

Charlie Wilson didn't have any official released in 2012. All of the stuff you hear on the radio are recurrents.

So your saying a song HAS to be released in December that previous year in order to be acknowledge the following? What about the other R&B songs that were released as singles in December? razz

Is that fair to all the other songs that were exactly released in 2012?

You do have a point if thats true but I still feel they could have nominated other R&B songs that came out this year besides that one and the only reason why they did was because its Beyonce. I still stand by that. I would like to see Melanie Fiona win in that category or someone else but thats more than likely not going to happen.

Overall I am not tripping about the Grammys because its a machine and I understand how it operates lol I just think its sad BUT I am pleased with the slight change this year with the nominations overall.
