Nicki Minaj Calls Steven tyler a racist

Thought i had seen and heard everything, but this chick takes the freaking cake. Its sad that one comment that had nothing nothing nothing to do with race, quickly the Race card gets played, im glad however the responses im hearing are very strong in defense of Steven Tyler (though some have said why should he apologize for her ignorance) and most have slammed Minaj for her tirades and playing of the race card like it was a joke on social media.

Heres basically what its about....

Steven Tyler has issued a mea culpa Tuesday for comments he made during a recent interview with MTV News after “American Idol” judge Nicki Minaj proclaimed him a “racist” to the social media world the day before.

“I apologize if I was taken wrong, Nicki,’ the Tyler said on the Canadian entertainment show ‘eTalk.’ “But I am the farthest from (being a racist). I am the last thing on this planet as far as being a racist. I don’t know where she got that out of me saying I’m not sure how she would’ve judged Bob Dylan.”

The drama started on Monday (Nov. 26), when Minaj expressed over her Twitter account that Tyler was a racist for insinuating that as a talent judge she would not be able to find the talent in a folk singer like Bob Dylan.

“These kids, they just got out of a car fromthe Midwest somewhere, and they’re in New York City – they’re scared to death!” Tyler told MTV News last week.

“If it was Bob Dylan, Nicki Minaj would have had him sent to the cornfields! Whereas, if it was Bob Dylan with us, we would have brought the best of him out, as we did with Phillip Phillips. Just saying.”

Heres why social media in the hands of idiots is an issue

Oh i dont doubt alot of her twitter followers are saying that Steven Tyler is a racist (if they know who he is anyway) but its not so much pathetic that she played the race card to of all people steven tyler, its the fact the she tosses a word like racist around like its a nickname, shit i would sue her for slander, that is a very libelious statement in my eyes.

I'll say this for Nicki Minaj - she's gone farther with less talent than anyone else I can think of!

How did this simple bitch get racists out of that confused

Steven brought up Dylan because of his raspy signing voice…not because he’s white & you’re black.

If he said it to Mariah no one would probably care lol

It also shows you how much of a IQ the media has almost taking up for Minaj's garbage ass.

You know.. i wanted to like Nicki.

She does have flow & i do like a few of her songs before Roman reloaded & all that crap.

But as her songs get more poppy & her also spouting off at the mouth.. i'm like confused

Plus one day at the gym they aired some documentary about her... she pretty much bitched the entire time lol

Think truth or dare by Madonna but times 10

I really liked her first album. One of my most played in 2011 actually. She's gone downhill faster than I think anyone expected, I do like 3 songs from her new album, but considering there's like 20 that's not a good accomplishment

Her success rate has tapered off too a bit. Guess her handlers thought "hmm, guess we should put this chick on 'Idol' just in case she fizzles out." I doubt they put her in it because she could get American Idol renewed ratings.

Which they claim they didn't...and they're probably right. Nicki can be quite unpredictable.

She obviously knew Tylers comment was hinting to her average talent lol which is why she said that in her defense but it was completely off the wall.

If someone says someone is being racist without providing proof, that's not much of a defense. She's a lame lol

I'm not a nicki fan but she is a hard worker and fun at times to watch or listen to when I have to hear her. I don't think Steven Tyler said it consciously, but if you're not a visible minority and/or black, I don't think anyone has the right to tell her if she thinks it is racist or not. And people expect you to sound or like certain things based on your outer profile too often, so I can see how an innocent comment like that can be interpreted as covert racism.

Looking at it from the perspective you brought up I guess I can see that but I think Tyler was suggesting that since Nikki has little talent she would not be able to pick out real talent herself but people interpret things differently

I thought Steven was bringing up the fact that singing competions can't determine whether someone is talented or not. Bob Dylan has one of the worst singing voices in music, but he's also one of the best song writers in music

Honestly I don't know how anyone can work with her. She comes off too 'diva-ish'. I actually watched one two clips of her show, (don't know if it was a documentary of pilot for a reality show), and I was shocked at how she treated the people that worked for her, even her choreographer. She acts like a spoiled brat, and quite frankly, she's no Aretha, Patti, Teena Marie, and will be forgotten in less than 5-10 years. She better enjoy the ride while she's on it, because her attitude will be the destroyer of her career.

Definitely agree. I just don't think Nikki has the experience to determine the potential of good talent. She was obviously brought on as a judge for ratings and to attract younger viewers, to give American Idol a boost.

Nor she has the patience. She strikes me as the type that would say "you have a nice ass" and give him a 10 just on that alone.

I agree and also I thought Tyler was talking more about her age/lack of experience than anything else. Some people under 30 and many teens don't know who Dylan is lol disbelief My issue with Tyler's comment is Dylan sucks as a singer and someone who sounds like him should be turned away because this is a singing competition, not a songwriting show. I'm sure there have been talented songwriters who tried out for these singing shows in the past and didn't make the cut.

Everybody knows Dylan can't sing his way out of a trashcan. lol But as a composer and songwriter he's up there.

Horrible music and she's a worse person.
