Beyonce Departs Clint Eastwood’s ‘A Star is Born’

THANK ALL THE GODDESSES ABOVE!!! lol

Maybe I will see it...

http://screenrant.com/bey...-eastwood/

There’s no question that Clint Eastwood is one of the most respected and revered actor/directors in film history. The 82 year-old has certainly stayed busy in a career that has spanned six decades, and after starring in Trouble With the Curve earlier this year and another directorial project in the works, he is showing no signs of slowing down.

Eastwood’s latest project, A Star is Born, would actually become the fourth version of a story that was last remade in 1976; an incarnation that starred Barbara Streisand and Kris Kristofferson. Even though the latest update has been in production for several years, as of this moment, the project has failed to land a male lead and has recently seen its female lead, Beyonce Knowles, drop out. clapping

Knowles was originally cast for the leading role of an aspiring singer who falls for a fading star nearly two years ago, but her pregnancy last year d...production. Sources now tell Variety that a packed schedule and the fact that the film is still without a start date may have caused Knowles to abandon the project.

The film can add Knowles’ departure to a laundry list of setbacks that have currently plunged it into “Development Hell.” Eastwood has gone through many potential actors for the male lead, including Russell Crowe, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Christian Bale, but no one has climbed on board. Even Tom Cruise was in ta...n the cast, but also dropped out due to scheduling conflicts.

However, the A Star is Born does have a few thing going its way. Jon Peters (who produced the 76 version), Bill Gerber (Gran Torino) and Basil Iwanyk (The Town) are in as producers and Will Fetters (Remember Me) is writing the script that reportedly will feature a... character.

Clint Eastwood Beyonce A Star is Born musical movie

With Knowles out of the picture, the search is already on for a replacement. Eastwood has reportedly expressed interest in Grammy Award-winning jazz musician Esperanza Spaulding. However, no offer will be made to an actress for the female lead until an actor for the male lead is confirmed.

The latest name to crop up on that list is Bradley Cooper, confuse who recently appeared in Silver Linings Playbook. But with Hangover 3 in production and a role in David O. Russell’s untitled project coming up, there may be too much on Cooper’s plate already.

Eastwood is obviously dedicated to the project and hasn’t given up yet, but for now it looks like it may be some time before production on A Star is Born gets up and running. As always, we will keep you posted on this project and its latest developments.

Out of loyalty to Obama?

Maybe Stacey Dash can play the role.

an amazing new comer would be great for the role. Esparanda would be cool.

Actually she would have been good in this role, she's super vulnerable when she speaks to pull off been an up and comer. and she's one of the only singer/actors in that celebrity league like a Striesand

I don't even think that the 1976 remake (starring Barbra Streisand) is any good.Kris Kristofferson's character was so annoying,I was actually applauding his death at the end lol

I like her however...

I dont understand why it HAS to be a singer? eek

When Halle portrayed Dorothy Dandridge she didnt do the singing in the movie... another woman did I think her name was Wendi Williams. They can get anybody to do the singing parts.

Clint wants a serious actress who is also a singer than he should look at some broadway/theater actresses instead of just trying to recruit a mainstream/pop singer WHO CANT ACT FOR SHIT to draw in viewers.

The whole formula is old and is killing cinema. Nobody cares if their fav singer is going to be a movie get a REAL broadway actress to play the part to make it a halfway descent believable movie. I dont even understand why he is trying to remake the movie anyway.

It seems the older Clint gets the odder his behavior becomes similiar to Quincy neutral

I hope not all older celebrities are like that... then again, who knows? The Esperanza thing sound like a RUMOR though. So take that with a grain of salt.

The orginal A Star Is Born didn't feature singers or any music at all. That changed when Judy Garland did a re-make of the first movie...

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton
