Trombone Shorty

So I went to the Jazz Festival in my city yesterday and saw Trombone Shorty...OMG he's officially been added to my favorite artists list. The man is amazing!!! excited He was my favorite act from yesterday that I saw..even though I did like Ravi Coltrane but their music styles are completely different of course. I would definitely see Trombone Shorty again! nod Any of you seen him live too?

Saw him when I played at the Jacksonville Jazz Festival a few months ago: http://prince.org/msg/8/380968

That band kills!

Later that evening on the hotel elevator on the way to my room, this woman insisted on showing me where he had autographed her left breast. lol

My Wife and I saw him at bospop in the netherlands, last July. It was great and yes, a new favourite artist added to the list.

one of the highlights of the festival!

Aww man, I would have loved to get his autograph but not on my left breast. lol. I had the chance to get his autograph too though because they had an artist meet and greet after their performances, but I was soaken wet (it poured down raining and storming for an hour during the festival), I felt so dirty and grimy, eww...plus I had to use the bathroom some kind of bad. So I figure I'd get his autograph another time when I was more presentable with an empty bladder. lol

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Also, I see your festival had a lot of stages...much bigger than ours. The guy who sat beside me on the shuttle bus back to the parking lot was telling me that I should go to the Capital Jazz fest in Columbia, Maryland which he said is exciting as well. I think I'll try to make that one next year. Here's the schedule for the jazz fest from this weekend: http://jazzatmaymont.com/schedule.html

I've seen him twice now. Just really solid old-school showmanship...flat out. He's brilliantly talented, too..but it's his dedication to giving every show his all that impress me most. It's 150% EVERY night with this guy.

Short story: If he gigs anywhere near you...GO SEE HIM.

Haven't seen him live, just video clips - love him! Became aware of him through "Treme."

You know he's played on Andy Allo's "Superconductor" and he tweeted back around November about a dream come tru having "worked with Prince" (not "Andy Allo") at Paisley.

I think they should do more collaborations - P and TS, not just playing horns for Allo.
