Mary J. Blige, D'Angelo set for Jones Beach

Mary J. Blige is trading the big screen for the big stage and her “Rock of Ages” co-stars for neo-soul pioneer D'Angelo.

MJB's “Liberation” tour stops at Nikon at Jones Beach Theater on Aug. 19, with Blige focusing on last year's “My Life II . . . The Journey Continues.” Tickets go on sale Monday through Live Nation. If you can't wait, Blige plays Caesars Atlantic City on Friday, Saturday and Tuesday

I want to see D'Angelo's live show. I downloaded the Bonaroo show but haven't listened to it yet. I'm hearing nothing but good thing about his performances though.

Aww shucks now, I see D is booking more US dates. Just a matter of time....

I know right, but hey, if it was me going, I'd go just for D, and then get and leave before Mary hits the stage.

It would be so hot if the Soulquarians would do a tour... Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Common, Bilal, Q-tip, etc. along with D'Angelo on the bill. Now that I would pay over $100 to see. Hell yes.

I can wait till he does his own gig in the city or somewhere close by. Not a big MJB fan and Jones Beach is far out to go for just an opening set.

At this rate he'll get here before long. He's obviously staging a comeback and NYC is a requisite stop for that.

for those of you in the Bay Area.....

i heard D got boe'd at the jazz fest in Holland. He came late into a venue that was packed just to see him. When he came he wasnt that good. Janelle Monae who performed made him look like an amateur according to the things i read and heard. Anyone been there?
