Yo Fave Track/LP From The Whispers??

My best LP from them would be "Love For Love", now that kinda LP that you have to listen from start 2 end. I love how they put the 1st half are the upbeats and the other half are the slow jams.

My fave song from them?? LOL I'd have to say all the songs in "Love 4 Love" LP,,,every song in that LP set my mood.

1983?? The year with the BEST LPs from everybody.

Chocolate Girl

the other 2,I'm not sure about the titles- there's one where he sings "I only meant just to wet my feet, but you pulled me in well,oh,the wonders of love run deep.."

and another one where he sings something like "lost and turned out"

Fave Track - In The Mood

Babyface revamped this dudes in a way I didn't think was possible in the late 80s. What are they doing now?

My favorite Whispers album is their 1979 self-titled album and my favorite song is "And The Beat Goes On",which is from that album.

"Do you ever wonder, why to win somebody's gotta lose?
I might as well get over (the blues)
Just like fishing in the ocean, there'll always be someone new
Who loves me better, girl, you did me wrong
But I've been through stormy weather

And The Beat Goes On
Just like my love (everlasting)
And The Beat Goes On
Still moving strong, and I love it"

The rest of that album was filled with killer jams, like "Out The Box","Can You Do The Boogie" and let's not forget their classic slow jam "Lady".This is the definitive Whispers album, capturing them at the top of their game.

Speaking of the Whispers, here is a question that hopefully someone (Finess? Bro915?) can answer...

In 1981,The Whispers released a kickass single called "This Kinda Lovin" which I love. The song is on their 'Best Of' CD (released by the Right Stuff label). But,was this song connected to any album? It's not on their 1980 'Imagination' album, and I don't think they released an album at all in 1981.Was it just a one-off single? Help me out here,I've been wondering about this for years.

No,I don't think it was a B-side.It was it's own single and it got alot of radio airplay back in '81.

I just did some research and found out that The Whispers did indeed release an album in 1981! The album is titled 'This Kind Of Lovin' and it contains these songs...

"This Kind Of Lovin" (5:13)
"World Of A Thousand Dreams"(3:43)
"I'm The One For You"(4:09)
"Got To Get Away"(5:00)
"I'm Gonna Love You More"(6:03)
"Can't Stop Loving You Baby" (4:19)
"What Will I Do"(4:08)
"The Bright Lights And You Girl" (3:24)

Funny,I don't remember this album or any of the other songs on it!!

"In The Raw" is the only song by The Whispers that I really like.. for them, this song is QUITE funky!

Most of the rest of what I've heard-
like "Rock Steady"-
is just too "pop" for me.
I'll see you tonight..
in ALL MY DREAMS..
