Its not about what benefit is there to her speaking out, its that LaToya has already established herself as the Jackson family spokesperson--the one willing to dish the dirt on the family secrets no matter how much it alienates her from the family. Talking about private family matters--both dirty and clean has been her practice for over two decades now, so why would she clam up now all in the name of "keeping it private?" I dont buy that. And at first I was against the kids being on Twitter, but after this past week, all I can say is thank god these kids are on twitter. Without it things would've been so much different. All we would've gotten was lies from Randy and Jermaine and them continuing on with the embarrassing "We're MJ's family" mumbo jumbo. These kids kept things real.

The decision was made after a meeting between Katherine Jackson and her lawyer Perry Sanders Jr. on Thursday. He said Michael Jackson's eldest son has told attorneys he approves of the arrangement.

The proposed arrangement could be presented to a judge next week. If approved, it would make Tito Joe "TJ" Jackson a co-guardian of the children – Prince, Paris and Blanket – who range in ages from 10 to 15.

"Mrs. Jackson is extremely pleased with the prospect of enjoying the pleasure of raising Michael's children without the day-to-day tedium of items such as managing the large staff that goes with such a high-profile family and focus her attention on being a grandmother and raising Michael's children," Sanders wrote in a statement.

"She is eager to simply enjoy her great relationship with these children, while deeding over some of the stressors that go hand in hand with being a guardian," he wrote.

Katherine's attorney, Perry Sanders, released the following statement:

"Later this morning, T J Jackson's attorney, Charles Shultz, will be filing a petition for TJ to be appointed permanent guardian of Michael Jackson's three children. The court ordered that this petition be filed pursuant to the temporary guardianship he granted TJ on Wednesday of this week.

"However, after a very productive meeting yesterday, first between Mrs. Jackson and me, and then joined by Prince Jackson, TJ Jackson and Mr. Shultz, it was agreed by all that it is in the best interest of Mrs. Jackson and the children to file a modified joint pleading at the beginning of next week.

"With some changes, that pleading will essentially now legally reflect how Mrs. Jackson and TJ have often shared responsibilities of raising the children since Michael Jackson's tragic passing. Following reaching agreement, Margaret Lodise, the court-appointed guardian ad litem for the children, was brought into the meeting by conference call. Ms. Lodise confirmed with Prince that the agreement reflected the wishes of all the children. The joint filing will request that the court reinstate Mrs. Jackson and appoint TJ as a co-guardian of Michael's children.

"If the court grants this joint request, it will eliminate concerns such as the ones triggered by the events of the last few days. It will also empower TJ to take joint legal responsibility for certain day to day duties such as the management of household personnel, including security.

It will also make clear for school personnel and anyone else coming into contact with the children that TJ is authorized to act on their behalf. TJ has frequently attended school conferences and dealt with school related matters and this agreement, if approved by the court, allows for continuity as sanctioned by the court."

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Los Angeles Judge Mitchell Beckloff made the ruling to appoint TJ as temporary guardian of the three kids during an emergency guardianship hearing Wednesday morning,. The children have been embroiled in a vicious family struggle for more than a week now as their aunt and uncles battle over the late King of Pop’s will, which they claim is fake. The will was validated as legit over two years ago, and there have been three failed attempts to have the will invalidated.

T.J. got extremely emotional during the hearing and told the judge that when he spoke to his grandmother on the telephone, she didn't sound like herself and that he thought other people were on the phone listening to the conversation.

Katherine was finally able to talk to her grandchildren after more than a week Tuesday night after her attorney flew to Tucscon, Arizona where Katherine had been holed up all week with no access to a telephone, computer or television.

Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff ordered an investigator to interview the three children independently and prepare a report that will be reviewed solely by him.

The order comes after nearly a week of turmoil in the Jackson family, including a driveway dispute between relatives on Monday and the absence and return of their grandmother this week.

The children range in ages from 10 to 15.

Beckloff ordered that the investigator have direct access to the children and authorized interviews to be conducted with them at their school.

It's not cool for folks to bash Katherine like some have been doing. She's dealing with a lot of stress. Yeah some of it has to do with raising 3 young kids, but she's part of a wrongful death lawsuit against AEG, her business handlers had her in the middle of some things that caused the estate to go after them (including a fake Heal The World charity), her husband is around the world selling products with MJ's image, and she's still mourning the loss of her son

It's also not cool for folks here to refer to Michael's kids as "those white kids", and bring up DNA when it's not even an issue in all this. Their father is Michael Jackson, and their grandparents are Katherine and Joe. They're Jacksons, and that's all that matters

This situation is bigger than this ordeal with the kids and Katherine so it would be wise for fans and the like to stop bashing them and see what happens

Excellent post! LaToya does not deserve any credit for keeping quiet. She will just as two-faced or even more than the rest of her siblings. I don't trust ANY of them. Latoya knew exactly that was happening and sat back to see which way the "wind was blowing" or as you said which side won. Of cours,since Prince and Paris, CHILDREN, have shown up ADULTS (Janet, Jermaine, rebbie and Randy), LaToya's sneaky ass is acting all sweet and innocent. She's trying to figure out how this is going to benefit HER when she starts going on talk shows.

it not mentioned here, but she also wants to maintain control of the kids' MONEY. so make tj take over everything that she doesn't want to do, but she gets to control their MONEY. can they be any more transparent?

the judge may have said he would likely reinstate her guardianship, but that was before the 'hostage video'. that was before the cryptic tweets that continued even after he appointed tj, in which p&p talk about exposing the truth if they (whoever they are) continued to tell lies. and now the judge has asked for an independent report where *each child* will be interviewed *separately*, which i believe will cover the entire three years they've been living w/katherine, possibly probing what they knew or what their father told them about the family, and what the nature of these family relationships were before his death, not just these last two weeks.

Interesting. Sounds like this was a decision between Katherine and her attorney? But it must first be approved by the judge--which, btw has ordered his own independent investigation into this situation. I'm thinking he will talk to the children directly to hear their take on what all went down and what their interests and desires are moving forward at this point. Also what does TJ have to say about the possibility of co-guardianship? I've only heard this story from Katherine's attorney, but has TJ actually agreed to this?

If Katherine had passed without the kids having another guardian in place the executors would have appointed a guardian and the money would have been paid to the new guardian and the Jackson family would have been S.O.L. Now that TJ is guardian if Mrs Jackson pass the money will still be paid to a Jackson and kept in the family...

It's because anyone with a memory and even a semblance of a brain KNOWS what LaToya has said and what she is capable of. This woman goes with what she thinks the public is supporting. She is as uch shit as Janet and the rest of them are. I certainly don't trust her just because she was queit. LaToya will do ANYTHING for attention. The only reason that the family basically left her out of this is because they think that she is a "loony bin" and that her involvement would have definently made the public suspicious at the inception of this mess. This is why Janet is so up in everythingt. Janet was so sure that her stans, the media and the public would find the letter(which started this mess) credible just because HER name is attached to it. Janet THOUGHT that since the media, her stans and public are so up her ass that they wouldn't question anything because SHE signed the letter.

What Janet NEVER visualized or even anticipated in a million years was the intelligence, strength, and concern of a 14 year-old girl who questioned the BLATANT LIE that her grandmother had a "mini-stroke". This by the way has been CONFIRMED to be a lie by Katherine and her lawyer. This same 14 year-old girl then exposed that they had not heard from their grandmother in 4...10 days.

To make matters even worse, JJRR(the idiots who co-authored this fiasco) tried to make a CHILD look like the villian and their stans, defenders and other morons went into overdrive vilifying this child. The final nail in the coffin of these people was the CALM, DIGNIFIED response of Prince Michael Jackson, Jr. whose tweet has to be the best tweet ever. This tweet tore the lid off of the deception that Janet, Jermaine, Rebbie and Randy had perpetuated. It show Janet as the fake, calculating, deceptive person that she is. Even her stans can defend what she has done. There are no excuses for HER or ANYONE in that family. I wonder if the stans and the Jackson Family defenders will ever have the balls to admit that what these people did was vile, despicable and IN-EXCUSABLE!!!!

And at first I was against the kids being on Twitter, but after this past week, all I can say is thank god these kids are on twitter. Without it things would've been so much different. All we would've gotten was lies from Randy and Jermaine and them continuing on with the embarrassing "We're MJ's family" mumbo jumbo. These kids kept things real.

And isn't it funny how this Twitter thing backfired on the family? They didn't give a shit that Paris was being harresed and threatened, but then Paris and Prince ended up using it to expose their asses to the world. Too funny. lol

If it had not been for these kids concern for their grandmother and their horror at the LIE that Janet, Rebbie, Randy and Jermaine were spewing, WE would never have known what these people were doing. But for these VER,VERY, VERY smart kids the Jacksons would have gotten away with it,. I am so proud of these kids, I could burst. I always knew that Michael had done a great job raising them; however, this goes beyond the stratsophere of how GREAT OF A JOB THAT HE DID. I can imagine he is smiling down proudly at his beautiful children.

This is probably the most significant news of the day for me. This could POTENTIALLY be crippling to the family as a whole if there's proof of Katherine and/or her support team (family included) not providing the necessary care the children need.

I got a feeling the children will probably voice their utter support and love for their grandmother but possibly throw everyone else under the bus.

SIDENOTE: Oh and why is Katherine's attorney releasing statements as if everything was approved by the judge? Am I missing something?

LOS ANGELES — Michael Jackson's mother will share guardianship of the pop superstar's three children with Tito Jackson's son in a deal that will relieve her of some of the day-to-day stresses of managing a famous family, her attorney said Friday.

The decision was made after a meeting between Katherine Jackson and her lawyer Perry Sanders Jr. on Thursday. He said Michael Jackson's eldest son has told attorneys he approves of the arrangement.

The proposed arrangement could be presented to a judge next week. If approved, it would make Tito Joe "TJ" Jackson a co-guardian of the children – Prince, Paris and Blanket – who range in ages from 10 to 15.

"Mrs. Jackson is extremely pleased with the prospect of enjoying the pleasure of raising Michael's children without the day-to-day tedium of items such as managing the large staff that goes with such a high-profile family and focus her attention on being a grandmother and raising Michael's children," Sanders wrote in a statement.

"She is eager to simply enjoy her great relationship with these children, while deeding over some of the stressors that go hand in hand with being a guardian," he wrote.

A judge on Wednesday suspended Katherine Jackson's guardianship duties temporarily and appointed TJ Jackson as temporary guardian. He was expected to file a petition on Friday to become the children's permanent guardian, but Sanders said that is a formality meant to abide by court orders.

The agreement came after days of turmoil in the Jackson family, including questions about Katherine Jackson's health and whereabouts.

Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff said there were no indications the 82-year-old had done anything wrong, and he would likely re-instate her as guardian upon her return.

Katherine Jackson had been at a Tucson, Ariz., spa since July 15 with her daughter Rebbie and other relatives and had not spoken to her grandchildren during that time.

i really hope the siblings raise the bar and let dignity instead of silly squabbling rule their next moves.

Sorry, I may be in the minority in this: however, I don't think that it is fair that TJ does all the work while Katherine sits around and COLLECTS the money. IMO, that is the ONLY thing that she was worried about and that is that she was losing her money. Her not calling her grandchildren for TEN days shows me that she didn't give a damn about them. I don't give her a pass, just because she is 82 years old. She knew what she was doing and went along with it. I hope these kids keep their eyes open and not be surprised when they find out that she was a part of this deception, also. I pray that I am wrong for the sake of Michael's children.
