Prince does invite parents to bring their children to his concerts-which is just cool. You know it is great that younger kids love this site, but as always conduct yourself with some respect. Just because ur on a site doesn't mean u can just say whatever the hell u want to people. As far as 15 and 16 yr olds go-it's great that they love this site, but I still refuse to let kids speak to me anyway even on here. I try not to disrespect people, but for some reason people think because I get on here and joke for shits and giggles that Im a damn kid. Im a grown woman neutral As for Smooth, seems like we keep having this same discussion and on one hand he ask me to respect his opinion, but on the other hand u make a whole thread telling folks their opinion doesn't mean shit. If u wanna speak like an adult, then imma treat u like one. Since I know ur a kid and I do like u im trying to be nice, but u can't have it both ways.

(Before I speak, let me apologise for my wrong-doing by doing such) rolleyes

Why doesn't this sentiment apply to yourself?

You say Smooth's opinion cannot simply be treated with some respect, because at the same time, he made a immature thread. Well then why can you, make jokes and giggle, and expect everyone to treat you with such respect.

Respect is to be earned. There are plenty of people here who have my respect, and I have given respect thus far for the most part.

Why should respect be expected?I haven't made it personal or told someone straight up that they shouldn't be arguing with me. You interpreted my post as something other than I meant for it to be, other peoples' opinions still mean something to me.

No one treats you like a kid on this site. Coming from a kid himself, I would know. lol

I never told anyone their opinion wasn't shit and I clarified myself multiple times. If someone doesn't understand, then that's life. I'm not about to take the blame when I have tried to get my point across. Nor am I going to sit here and accept being trashed because people think they are above me.

And to go into what Smooth say's about product.

No one cares if an artist you stan for can outsing so & so & outsold so & so and inspire so & so.

Who gives a shit, fuck, damn or piss razz

When people say that it's like that is going to persuade you into liking an artist just cause you bring numbers in confused PWEEEEEEZE

You started this thread-so u got what u wanted neutral I talk with u almost everyday on here and hardly ever disrespect or argue with u. Lastly, I talk to you, but couldn't tell u what u said yesterday-that's how much your opinion means neutral Do your parents know and approve that u get on here and talk shit like this? Probably not since u even said they dont know in one of your previous threads. You really have alot to learn. I still think u are nice and that's where Im gonna leave it.

Let me just put these 2 cents in to. I am 21.. pretty young but not as young ass Smooth & some others.

And it's true that sometimes people pull that age thing on you for no reason... i respect older people and am no way harsh to them. But having people tell me ''whatch you know about so & so artist'' Because i didn't live through them i apperently can't know about them? rolleyes

This ain't against ANYONE here (though it may inadvertently be so...) BUT I remember years back in a different forum when I was posting nothing but older music, people didn't even think I was the age I was... and this was 18 or 19, people were soooo convinced I was 30 years older. neutral Probably still think that. But if they've seen my latest posts, they become ageist then too: "oh you showing your age". lolI ain't got problems, like I said, with people's opinions and age is cool, just don't shove it down my throat. lol

Yea I agree with this but I agree with everything you have said in this thread, you made great points. I dont see how age alone has anything to do with getting respect on a message board where EVERYONE should be respected not just 40 year olds. Jokes and a immature thread are really no different in that regard to being treated with respect no matter how old you are..

Its about respect in general for people and their opinions neutral I stated my age because of the comment that was so disrespectfully made to me. The new generation are coming up (or are already here). Back in 2004, when I started posting, it was me and some other orgers arguing with eachother and taking it all a little too seriously, and we were young too.

Now we are old(er) and it's some other orgers turns to make statements about opinions and "tell it like it is" and act a little too serious LOL.

True but that wasnt your original point. Do you think you would still have this opinion if you didnt know his age?

Now dont get me wrong you did make a point I DID agree with in the last post.. bolded I agree with

But everything else was rather irrelevant and really means nothing. Your age and the fact another poster is younger than you means nothing. You still have to give everyone respect and just because your older doesnt mean you are superior of more respect... I mean seriously this is just a message board and everyone should be treated respectfully on it, it seems your just using your age to validate your arguement neutral .

How did I miss this thread?lol

*ahem* Now smooth, you know I like you (in my Whitney voice). But my beloved Whitney was more than just a "product.' She didn't make music to make money, she made it for the greater good. You see, her music was deep and meaningful with messages everybody could relate to. The same thing goes for artists like Prince, Michael, James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner, Al Green, LTD, Zapp, Rufus, Cameo, etc. They made "real" music. You understand what I'm saying? But nowadays you have these artists like Justin Beiber, Lady Gaga, Beyonce, RiRi, Lil' Wayne, Nicki Minaj, LMFAO, Katy Perry, etc who are merely products of their record companies. They don't make 'real' music. I blame today's youth for not looking for the good music and just accepting the crap on the radio!!

lol

There, I just summed up 50% of the threads on here.

Let me also add that I did get carried away in the other thread, but I assure you that I never go to bed at night angry because I may not wake up in the morning. It's never THAT serious to me. Sometimes my sarcasm doesn't resignate through the computer. Again I say, it's never THAT serious. wink
