Actually, I did read ur thread. Secondly, I'm 40 so no teen can nitpick with me. I don't argue with teens. Just commented on ur thread since this is a discussion board. I have been here since 2003 and I find it interesting when folks post rants like this when they know they will get strong reactions from people.

I think some people care more about opinions and some just dont care, so it means nothing to them because... they dont care about them (and thats okay) but that doesnt take away that opinions are essential like you said. People tend to care more about opinions that they agree with and vice versa. I think in relation to this board, if all opinions meant nothing, what would be the point in coming? On message boards, that is just the nature. We come and make opinions. EVERYONE makes an opinion when they post whether its lengthy or one word. To be honest, if it all meant nothing , we all wouldnt post or say them. And if opinions mean nothing to some here, I honestly dont see why they would come. Just because some people argue online and some opinions are not 100.00000% fact doesnt mean ALL opinions dont mean nothing. We come here to talk about MUSIC because we all enjoy it so it means something to all of us and the opinions stated here do as well whether we agree, disagree, or have an opinion but don't post it because dont want to come off like a stan

To be honest, this is why some people dont post here anymore or are fearful to speak their mind in general because their opinion is always being bashed because... its just an opinion.

Well of course, we get that like you said its really a already understood truth that doesnt need to be physically said out the mouth or written out AND a very tired arguement against people having an opinion but isnt that why we all come here? To talk about music we like or dont like, give feedback, read others feedback etc .Debates and arguements will always be as long as the internet exists and especially when talking about music: a very debatable subjective to an extent objective subject . Its highly unnessary but it happens but all the negative aspects of message boards, arguements, stan wars or disagreements on music doesnt mean ALL opinions dont mean nothing.

Some opinions have more merit than others ex. objectivity, educational knowledge, experience, which makes them more convincing, rational and appear more closer to the truth because they can validate it. So its really unfair to say ALL opinions mean nothing. I think some are not meant to be as important as others are and have less merit but its still an opinion at the end of the day

Prince does invite parents to bring their children to his concerts-which is just cool. You know it is great that younger kids love this site, but as always conduct yourself with some respect. Just because ur on a site doesn't mean u can just say whatever the hell u want to people. As far as 15 and 16 yr olds go-it's great that they love this site, but I still refuse to let kids speak to me anyway even on here. I try not to disrespect people, but for some reason people think because I get on here and joke for shits and giggles that Im a damn kid.
