Loverboy ~ Working For The Weekend

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

This song is a little over 30 years old; I can't think of a song in the last 10 years that's better.

I wonder what kids of today think about this music. It's not awful, so I can't imagine they're interested lol

Great song but I have to say that one thing always bugged me about it.

"You want a piece of my heart/you better start from the start"

You better start from the start? Using the word "start" twice? OK, I realise that these guys are not Bob Dylan but they really couldn't think of a better line than that? Everytime I hear that line I cringe!

They could have started from the end or the middle. lol

Another good "radio" tune from them...

...The Kid Is Hot Tonite

Mike Reno's duet with Ann Wilson, Almost Paradise, was also nice.

I remember that. They played it a lot on the radio. There were other popular AC duets back then like Friends And Lovers by Gloria Loring & Carl Anderson, Separate Lives by Phil Collins & Marilyn Martin, and Next Time I Fall by Amy Grant & Peter Cetera.
