Loverboy ~ Working For The Weekend You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

This song is a little over 30 years old; I can't think of a song in the last 10 years that's better. I wonder what kids of today think about this music. It's not awful, so I can't imagine they're interested

Great song but I have to say that one thing always bugged me about it.
"You want a piece of my heart/you better start from the start"
You better start from the start? Using the word "start" twice? OK, I realise that these guys are not Bob Dylan but they really couldn't think of a better line than that? Everytime I hear that line I cringe!

They could have started from the end or the middle. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Another good "radio" tune from them... "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."

I remember that. They played it a lot on the radio. There were other popular AC duets back then like Friends And Lovers by Gloria Loring & Carl Anderson, Separate Lives by Phil Collins & Marilyn Martin, and Next Time I Fall by Amy Grant & Peter Cetera. They're soooo Canadian to me, even formed in my city!
I kinda forget they were international like that!
I like every part of the instruments played on this:
