One of my favorite SWV songs. I like the guy sing too. Never knew who he was tho....
HATED THOSE STUPID LONG FINGERNAILS!!!!! I would often changed the channel when SWV came on because of those long, disgusting fingernails. [Edited 6/10/12 22:46pm]

They had some good stuff, but totally lacked charisma "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

Always loved this one. The single remix is way better vocally than the album version (just like "Weak"). The guy singing is SWV's main producer, Brian Alexander Morgan. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

Seeing videos like that, it just strikes me how there was a time when a group of every day cute black girls could sing and get some shine. Seems like a million years ago.

The vocals are definitely re-recorded. Starting with the end of Coko's first verse ("Can we take our time and do this for a while"), it's very noticeable. I never listen to the original version of this or "Weak."
Album Version (left); Radio Version with Piano (right)
The changes in "Weak" are major. Killing the overbearing reverb on the solo was a nice touch. The ad libs at the end are also completely different:
Album Version; Radio Edit
This is one relatively recent album that could stand a 2-disc reissue. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

I never knew until years later that Case was the male vocal on the song.

It's not Case. It's Brian Alexander Morgan. Case did duet with Coko years later, FWIW. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

Oh yeah. I think I'm just used to the album version because I always listened to that. Brian is WAY up in the video mix.
