Yeah I read the lyrics. I don't know how people think this song is literally about drugs (most of the songs during the psychedelic era wasn't about drugs contrary to popular belief).

Same thing with the Temptations' "Cloud 9". When you read the lyrics, it wasn't about drugs either but about FINDING YOURSELF.

I don't know if this counts or not but when Kanye came out with "Jesus Walks" I know some folks were trying to pass it off as a gospel rap song. Irritated me to no end. I think the song was even nominated for a Stellar Award. Like really tho? Just because "God" is in the lyrics its supposed to be claimed as a gospel song?
