I can see them giving Dick a tribute. That's how biased they are.

I think they intentionally left Don out because he was not known for music. They should have included him in the montage and listed him as TV Host/Founder of Soul Train, Songwriter, Co-Founder of SOLAR Records, and Producer. He did co-write hits for a few of the SOLAR Records and O'Bryan.

If Dick Clarke died, they would dedicate 20 minutes to him.

I don't think they would have.

Now, if BET overlooks him during the BET Awards this year, we have a problem.

I wonder if Dick or Don are members of NARAS?

Dick isnt a good comparison. Clark's work in the industry is huge compared to Don.

I KNOW you are not trying to downplay Don Cornelius's relevance to the business, are you?

They even gave Steve "the industry killer" Jobs a memormiam.

Dick Clark productions produce at least 3 yearly award shows including the AMA's. He is more relevant in the music industry than Don Cornelius. Sorry its the truth. Soul Train was a iconic show and Don Cornelius a huge influence on today's music, which LL Cool J stated during last nights telecast, but Clark is bigger in the industry.

clapping Thank you, I'm not the only NOT snorting Steve Job's over priced ashes. He made NO great contributon to music...just another avenue for Apple to make money and to make music more intangible and cold. I'm PISSED that there wasn't even a 5 minute salute to Don or even put him the memorial montage...bitches! I'm with you.

Everybody remember the BET Honors come on tomorrow night. Stevie, Mariah, Maya Angelou, The First Lady, etc. will all be there.

It'll probably be one of the sole times I watch it this year.

I don't know. For some reason I can never watch the BET Honors. Don't know why. It just seems like their attempt to prove they wanna be mature. But you could do that at the MAIN awards show. confused But you could tell me how Patti and Aretha did...

SO TRUE they not fooling nobody.

I don't think she's so petty that she'd get up and leave because she didn't win an award, either.

Well, she did get up and started leaving the auditorium as Adele was accepting the award for Album of the Year, which was the last award of the night, so she was probably trying to beat the rush out the door to whatever afterparties were taking place after the show. The Grammys are known for having a number of huge afterparties, so she was probably on her way to one.

Probably a bunch of young teenagers and college students whose idea of old musicians are people like Michael Jackson, Madonna, Bruce Springsteen and the late Whitney Houston. Heck, even Mariah Carey is an old timer to them. You have to remember that much of the Twitterverse was born after 1990, so to them listening to Paul McCartney was like us listening to Frank Sinatra, Glenn Miller, and Count Basie at that same age.
