No illegal drugs have been found in the hotel room where Whitney Houston died -- at least not yet -- but prescription drugs were present, and it's possible the singer drowned in the bathtub ... TMZ has learned.
Sources tell us ... when EMTs arrived Whitney's body was already removed from the bathtub so it will take an autopsy to determine if she OD'd, drowned or died from some other cause.
Informed sources tell us ... Beverly Hills cops -- who were still searching the room at the time this story was posted -- found various pill bottles. There was no evidence that Whitney was drinking alcohol in the room.
Whitney's body was just removed from the room on a gurney. It will go to the morgue for an autopsy to determine cause of death.

This is reminding me of how Judy Garland, Michael and Phyllis Hyman died! Even odder: Whitney and Phyllis briefly shared the same label. And both died without reaching 50 (Phyllis at 45).
The way it's written, I don't think accidental drug overdose would be far off.
I have to ask why does the I'm Your Baby Tonight album get shit on so much? it got awful reviews from critics. And even is not highly regarded by many Whitney fans.....
Idk why, after re-listening to it, the production by Babyface & co is great, sure it's dated but who cares?
And the lyrics deal with some serious subjects this time around, and people always bitched about her doing nothing but love songs. She took on some deeper material and people still where not happy? lord
I love all the songs she put out from that album. I'm guessing people weren't expecting Whitney to go R&B and new jack swing on 'em. "Miracle" was a song that would've been more familiar to them but the title track, "All the Man That I Need" and "My Name is Not Susan" endeared her to R&B audiences. Some say that album was a response to her mixed reaction at the 1989 Soul Train Awards (where she was booed).
I thought the same, Whitney killed it with any genre imo. Give her a rock cover band she'd kill it, give her reggae or country she got it. So i loved the new jack swing R&B even Hip-Hop sound of the album. But i have not listened to the album in awhile, i like just about every track as well in fact i think it is better then her Whitney album imo.

Oh shit, reading about the pills and now the autopsy just makes me want to start crying. I don't know if it's cause I liked her since forever though I'm not a big fan, or if it's sounding too much like MJ
I thought Phyllis was bipolar and killed herself. We don't know anything yet with Whitney.

I'm still trying to find her Video Soul interview that she took at the time of the release of the album.
Vainandy is a trip.....and then I learned a few weeks ago he didn't even know the songwriters she worked with and who else she worked with and who they worked with. And he didn't know Etta James till awhile back.
Whitney I love you girl, please forgive my weed and crack parodies of your songs! I blame Debra Wilson and Weird Al for my toilet humor

I meant with the pills. That's how they found Phyllis. But yeah it's unclear if it was in similar pattern.

Why would I?
I always saw you as someone with high musical knowledge, so it just surprised me....a lot! Can you blame me?
thank you timmy! never seen this one or this show[WAY before my time]
This interviewer is chill! just talking about movies when he starts and stuff... i like interviews like this.
Donnie Simpson always made his guests feel real comfortable. That's why people loved going there. Video Soul was the music video version of Soul Train for me.
Yeah, she's determined to make a full recovery and vindicate all that she's been through. But it doesn't seem to be in the cards for her. At this point, I don't see her voice getting better over time. I'm afraid her story is gonna end in tragedy ala Phyllis Hyman... "I'm tired. I'm tired. Those of you that I love know who you are. May God bless you."
Um.... congratulations?
Jesus, you seem like a creep digging up all these old posts where you predicted a celebrity's death.
I hope you won your cookie or whatever it is you're competing for.
This is by far, Whitney's greatest concert. I have so many memories of watching this as a baby when this first premiered on HBO in 1994, at the peak of her illustrous career. Loved it then, and I love it now! She killed it this night! Whitney, we will love you forever. R.I.P.

Oh that was Donnie huh!
This is funny, cause although Whitney was HUGE in this era, and him asking about number 1's & such. This was before she was really breaking records with the bodyguard! she had a long road of fame ahead of her.

Why would I dig and investigate writers and producers of someone's music that I'm not interested in? And why the hell is her body still upstairs while a party is going on? That's just sorry and trifling.

Remember she was already a megastar on her first two releases. Whitney being on Video Soul was a REAL big deal. Like when Janet was on the show a year before her to promote Rhythm Nation.

You clearly "knew" a lot about her to begin with, so why not? I bashed Britney Spears for years like crazy and realized one day I knew more about her than I should and slowly backed off once her probems started.
There will be PLENTY of enough time to over analyze and pick apart her life. Its tacky to throw out someone imperfections when they JUST pass away its so tacky and disrespectful as if that is suppose to suggest people should not be as sad as they are for a person who has just passed...
Her "imperfections" is what made her human, not her singing talent that only 1% of the
world's population has.
You have celebrity-itis embedded into your public consciousness; I do not. She was a singer
and an entertainer. A singer and entertainer's death is not enough to get me to not survey all
that their life encompassed and glean any applicable lesson of their life on how to live out my
own. This is what history is all about.
Relax guys; you can be critical and respectful at the same time.
yeah, I guess. but what are you gaining from it exactly? do you have an actual point, or is it just to show off how level-headed, logical, pragmatic you can be in the face of a fairly tragic loss to pop culture?
are you waiting for someone to give you a ribbon or something?

where did you hear that andy? Give me your source, I want to see it. sad if true. I'm watching her last oprah interview, gosh how can you not like her? she's so funny and cute. Feel bad for her, doesn't seem very sharp or even diva like. Must be a lot of pressure living up to diva standards because she absolutely had diva talent.

Oh yeah i head about that one!
I'm still shocked The Bodyguard only had 3 top ten hits! and only 1 number 1.... And sold 17 million copies. And people today can get many number 1's & only go platinum. That shows the huge love of that album at the time.

I know a lot about her from hearing her songs on the radio and sitting back and observing her impact and influence on other artists from the time she hit the scene. As far as knowing about who wrote what or who produced what, how would I know because I certainly didn't buy any of the records? I never even heard of old Silver Balls Clive Davis until years later when they did a documentary on her on TV.

Just from reading this thread. If you scroll the previous pages, you'll see several posts from people about her body still being in the building while a party is going on downstairs. That's just plain out sorry and trifling as hell that a party can't be interrupted to get a body out.....even hers. Lord knows the party probably ain't about shit anyway.
No one ever said that it was sooo important. People have spoke on the disrespect in this thread also. N yes it does matter to many that her body is still at the hotel that they are partying at. Most people just cannot grasp the situation
Because they don't feel the same way as you "most people" are too thick to understand what's going on?
Anyway...
Centric went from a block of Whitney videos, ending with the National Anthem, to R Kelly's "In The Closet". Now that's offensive.
No, it's not. Centric already planned to have a R. Kelly special today but Whitney suddenly passed so they quickly added in a block of Whitney videos between his special.

I think because of its ties to the movie and the admiration of Whitney were main reasons it sold that well, plus households just had to have "I Will Always Love You" on their stereo players so that mainly explains it.
