the Confessions era 2005-2006 This is who I am
"When I wrote American Life, I was very agitated by what was going on in the world around me,...I was angry. I had a lot to get off my chest. I made a lot of political statements. But now, I feel that I just want to have fun; I want to dance; I want to feel buoyant. And I want to give other people the same feeling. There's a lot of madness in the world around us, and I want people to be happy."
Roxy club premiere Confessions on a Dance Floor Photography – Steven Klein Art direction and graphic design – Giovanni Bianco Stuart Price – Producer The tour grossed over US $194.7 million, becoming highest grossing tour ever for a female artist, at that time.

She referenced her New York clubbing days too when describing the making of this album, from what I remember.

Classic M. For the first time in years, it was fun to be a fan of her and I loved how she really got back into dancing. Amazing album. Amazing tour. 3121... Don't U Wanna Come?

She was everywhere all over tv, radio, stores for a year and a half with this project here.

I loved when she went to the NYC classic Roxy club to promo the album and she stayed into the morning dancing with the crowd

Sounds like fun She was big in Canada too, I remember American fans complaining she was not on the radio, but it was the opposite here with the singles.

Snap shot of Madonna and DJ Peter Rauhofer at Roxy on October 22 when the superstar attended to club to promote "Confessions On A Dancefloor." Madonna told the crowd, "You know I have a long history with the Roxy so I only thought it appropriate that I come here to share my new album with you and dance. It all started here with 12 inches. Some girls have all the luck." The crowd went wild of course, and Madonna said, "Are you fucking ready? Ok, let's go."

Aw I love her dress
I love the interview she did overseas, I think somewhere in Europe where she had on the pink tank top and was a bit feisty and said she'll call the interviewers wife

I didn't bother listening to the outtakes back then, was in my final year at uni and was barely going online other than for schoolwork, but with the CD playing in the background while I studied Super pop is awesome! Will play the rest later I think Invincible and Confessions are the two albums I played more than any last decade though I had a few others on heavy rotation too.

Madonna celebrated her 48th birthday at a nightclub in London lately. In the presence of her friends, she declared her love for her husband Guy Ritchie by saying that she cares for him deeply as he is the love of her life. She expressed gratitude for the support he provided her, through thick and thin and claims that Ritchie has changed her life completely, for the good of course.

Future Lovers I'm gonna tell you about love
Let's forget your life forget your problems Administration, bills and loans Come with me In the evidence of its brilliance [repeat] In the demonstration of this evidence Some have called it religion This is not a coincidence Would you like to try [Chorus] Connect to the sky Future lovers ride Their ambitions high Would you like to try Let me be your guide Put aside your pride Future lovers hide Love inside their eyes In the evidence of its brilliance [repeat] Love controlled by time Future lovers shine For eternity In a world that's free Put away your past Love will never last If you're holding on To a dream that's gone I'm gonna tell you about love Would you like to try In the evidence of its brilliance [repeat] There's no love like the future love Come with me [Chorus] In the evidence of its brilliance

What can I say, my fave Madge era? Possibly. I became a fan between Immaculate Collection and Erotica (aged 10)...I became a hardcore fan when Ray of Light came out....and I guess I became an ultra hardcore fan when Confessions was released.
Can't remember listening to an album on the first play-through and immediately realising it would be one of my all time faves...but it happened with Confessions. I was so pleased Madonna got back to doing proper dance music. Aside from the last couple of tracks it was made entirely for the dancefloor....and not in a cheesy way, it was actually great dance music. I even lent it to some of my serious clubbing / raving friends and they were impressed (and they aren't easily impressed!! lol)
Confessions also marks the first time I saw M in concert, at Wembley Arena for the Confessions tour....god knows why I hadn't been to see her before (or gone to any concert for that matter)...I assumed it would be too expensive, tickets would be too hard to come by, etc. But I had one of the best nights of my life...so much so I had post concert withdrawal afterwards and almost spent a forture going to another show the following week! www.filmsfilmsfilms.co.uk - The internet's best movie site!

Oh, and stylistically that whole era was amazing...the album cover was one of her best, the clothing, the hair, the wehole Confessions product was brilliant.
I actually did an oil painting of the Confessions cover the Xmas after it came out and it still has pride of place in my house...I'll have to try and post a pic of it on here for y'all! www.filmsfilmsfilms.co.uk - The internet's best movie site!

Ta-dah!! I'm not the best oil painter in the world....I did this in three days...I've not got the patience to do a colour, wait for it to dry, return weeks later, do the next colour, etc!

^^^ Wow man that is very good for 3 days, good interpretation of the expression

Wow that's a beautiful painting!!! You could make a fortune for that if you made another You're very talented!
I love the transition between Future Lovers and I Love New York, it gets me so hyper. I also agree this is one of the few Madonna albums I can play start to finish. I can do that with Like a Virgin, Immaculate Collection, American Life and Confessions.

Thanks! I can see a few things wrong with it, and if you look at the purple I put in the background you can see how carefully I had to paint round Madonna 'cos her paint was still wet!! Oils take forever and a day to dry though.
Someone has said I should do more and sell them, but I'm not I could part with my work (unless the money was proper crazy! lol) www.filmsfilmsfilms.co.uk - The internet's best movie site!

Love the painting! It def one of her best album covers.
I also think this was her finest moment for live balladry:

I don't love all the songs, but the tour and album are both the higlights of her 2000 era. In fact, it's almsot the only thing worth mentioning.....

Ray of Light & Confessions are the 2 of the 2000's that I can listen to all the way thru
a bit off topic I love the musical style of songs like What It Feels Like For a Girl & Miles Away
My total favorite from Confessions is Sorry ( I love how she says sorry in different languages and her Italian is so sexy)
