I agree that Michael has not sold 1 billion records. His album sales has surprassed legendary status though and like a poster said I HIGHLY doubt will ever be beat especially with the advancement of technology. His sales reflect that his the fuckin King of Pop!!

I don't know what happened to the Bobby Brown sticky, I thought it would continue over here. The statistics were interesting. And I'll give Bobbi his props for his contribution. Not to take away from Bobbi, but I never thought Michael had anything to worry about. It was never a thought in my musical mind. I liked New Edition and that's because they reminded me of little mickey mouse versions of the J5. I always thought they were paying homage to the J5.
I thought it was special and brave that Bobbi was going out on his own, for whatever reasons, probably they told him to get out, but seriously I don't know the story. Even though Bobbi was high energy and reminded me of boys around the corner, my musical instincts didn't go into high gear. Actually, he reminded me of Janet with his headphone microphone and his moves. I did go and get his album and danced, but I didn't realize that Bobbi B had crossed over. Perhaps he did. Musically, I considered and consider Bobbi Brown to be a flash in the pan.

The Passing of Pop’s Greatest Icon
by Loren Ridinger
Loren Ridinger shares her personal memories of a whimsical evening spent with the King of Pop, while her friends in Hollywood and the music industry relate what the impact of his passing means to them. It is hard to believe that Michael Jackson is gone.
I remember the first time I met him over dinner at Al Malnik’s house. Al and his family invited me, my husband JR, and my daughter Amber over for an intimate gathering with Michael and his three beautiful children, Prince Michael, Paris, and Blanket. Memories of how much he loved his children come flooding back to me as I recall that night. He was the proud papa, grinning from ear to ear as his children performed a little play for us, “Three little monkeys sitting on a bed.” He smiled and laughed so much that night. He was so proud of those kids and he knew how to show it.
During dinner we talked about his lack of authentic childhood experiences and how his sister Janet had always been so amazing and sensitive with him. As he talked, he spoke with his heart and I could actually feel some of the pain that he must have experienced in his short life. I really believe that the child inside of him was always begging to be released. Watching him play hide-and-go-seek with my daughter Amber and the other children, I was struck by how much he laughed, enjoying the fun as much as they did. Listening to Michael speak was almost as amazing as hearing him sing because he spoke with such love-for his children as well as his family and fans. He was kind, gentle, and remarkable in every way. He shared stories with us that night as if we had known him forever.
The evening turned quite comical when Michael complimented the pants that I was wearing because they reminded him of the ones he donned in the video for “Bad.” He loved mine so much, in fact, that he asked me to let him try them on! Feeling somewhat embarrassed and at a loss for words, I was goaded into it by both my own family and the Malniks, who kept saying, “Oh come on…just let him try them on.” I gave in and told him I would wait in the bathroom for him to pass them back to me. After 10 minutes I knew I was in trouble. I heard a little knock at the door and he said, “Loren, I love these pants! Please, please, please let me keep them. I will give you my pants to wear home!” Well, what was I supposed to say? He was, of course, the legendary Michael Jackson and he simply stole my heart. I watched him show everyone at the house how wonderful the pants looked on him and I started my own fashion show wearing his. We all laughed and carried on with the beautiful evening.
I had the opportunity to see him many times again thereafter and we always laughed just as much as we did on the first night we met. He was always so loving and so wonderful. He cared about people and he cared about the world. I am sure there will never be another Michael Jackson. He changed music, breaking every barrier and demonstrating that he could accomplish anything that he set his mind to. He paved the way for so many other artists and entertainers and he gave us the belief that if people loved each other and cared for each other enough, we would “Heal the World.” I wonder if the some of the world let him down and forgot the words that he sang to us with such love in a song that touched our hearts.
He made the world a better place for all of us. Michael opened his heart to all of us through his life and his music and because of him we will never be the same. I asked some of my friends to share their thoughts on the passing of this legend, which I share with you here. Warm Regards, Loren Ridinger http://www.hauteliving.co...test-icon/
This is my first time hearing about this story.

^On the flip side I wonder if he would have done that for a fan--like say if Mike had a group of fans at his house and if MJ was wearing a pair of pants that a fan really liked, and they begged him to let them try it on, and then begged MJ to keep his pants. Would he have freely given his pants away to one of his fans? MJ L.O.V.E: https://www.facebook.com/...689&type=2 / YOUTUBE: http://www.youtube.com/us...nderSilent

Despite an exhausting shooting schedule, the Glee cast had a blast playing dress up yet again — this time in red leather, glittery gloves and fedoras, for their Michael Jackson tribute episode, airing Jan. 31. "One of our challenges," explains co-costume designer Jennifer Eve, "was to take the inspiration of Michael Jackson but keep the iconic Glee characterizations."
But it's not all sparkle and no substance. According to Cory Monteith, who plays Finn, "What makes 'Michael' a great tribute episode is that it successfully carries a lot of our storylines forward while at the same time paying homage to the King of Pop."
Enjoy this behind-the-scenes photo gallery tour of outtakes from TV Guide Magazine's exclusive on-set cover story photo shoot and hear what the cast has to say about perhaps Glee's most ambitious undertaking yet.

Michael Jackson's Robert Burns songs to be releasedSinger's collection of showtunes inspired by Burns's poetry could be donated to a Scottish museum by David Gest
A Scottish museum may soon be home to one of Michael Jackson's unreleased albums. More than a decade after Jackson and David Gest recorded songs based on the poetry of Robert Burns, Gest reportedly intends to donate the recordings to the poet's official museum in Ayrshire.
In a career of peculiar projects, it remains one of the singer's strangest: a collection of showtunes inspired by Burns's life and work. The songs have never been made public – it was either overlooked or forgotten in the Jackson estate's search for unreleased material.
Now, after a visit to the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum, Gest has reportedly agreed to donate Jackson's most Scottish songs. "[David] offered to look them out and provide copies [for us]," museum director Nat Edwards told the List. The museum hopes to "produce some sort of CD", as a fundraiser. "[It would] be a way of getting audiences interested in Burns and illustrating his international, enduring artistic legacy," Edwards said.
Gest explained in a recent TV documentary for BBC Alba that he and Jackson were Burns fanatics. "I said to Michael, let's do a play [based on] Burns's life and he said he would help me with the music." Jackson ended up hiring musicians and borrowing the studio at the Jackson family home in Encino, California. "Michael believed in the project so much," Gest said. "We took about eight or 10 of Burns's poems and put them to contemporary music, such as A Red Red Rose, Ae Fond Kiss and the story of Tam O'Shanter."
Although the collaboration was first revealed in 2008, it seems to have taken place in the late 80s. They originally intended to stage a musical, Gest said, produced by actor Anthony Perkins and directed by Gene Kelly. Plans were scuppered after Perkins's death in 1992. Kelly died in 1996. That year, Gest premiered a play based on Burns's life, Red Red Rose.
Best known as the ex-husband of Liza Minnelli, Gest was a contestant on the 2006 series of I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here. Last year he released a film based on Jackson's life.

hahaha I used to wear Bad-era like pants in the early 00's with studs and other designs and those belts like Avril Lavigne wore but I related them to Bad era all the way. I would be honored if MJ wanted to try them on, and I got to keep his though I would feel so bad about taking them though he does have gazillion black pants and red shirts on hand

During his trip to Germany in 2006, michael jackson was accompanied by his three children, the 3 were living in a house property of a friend of michael, certainly the fans could find it and took advantage of the moment and things sent him in order that michael gentilemente was signing them. One of these fans is sent by me him his hat, nevertheless when Michael I return the things that he had signed for his fans, the hat was not, the reason was for that his son "blanket" he likes me the hat and it it wanted to able only, gently accepted michael but to to leave his fan with the empty hands, I spend to him in exchange for the hat a shirt of blanket signed by he
here the fan with the shirt of blanket " shirt of blanket, love michael jackson "
Sorry for my baad english , I believe that any fan of MJ was giving him any thing so as to extract a smile

I always thought that just because he was a little more selective on what he chose to realease didn't mean that he just spent his time in between albums twiddling his thumbs. For someone who worked extremely hard I would imagine that there's a lot that we haven't heard.
