Chico, we haven't had our yearly Wham! discussion, have we? "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

I will be picking this up. I wonder if the remix is the same thing as the extended version? [Edited 11/1/11 23:19pm] Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life. ~Berthold Auerbach

Yes, I think so. Looks like it's the original album.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Yep, it's the same "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

i think this is the first time that bad boys and/or wham rap and/or young guns have been on dvd as george was always embarassed about the videos. shame there isn't any extra music
where did your heart go (was not was cover!!) video and pudding mix video are also new to dvd
hopefully they do something with the first 2 albums with the 12"s etc on a bonus disc
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Bad Boys and Young Guns have never been on DVD and haven't been on any video compilation since their first one back 1984.
They re-released "The Best Of Wham!" last year and Last Christmas and Where Did Your Heart Go was on the DVD, but it was only available in Japan if I recall. I've been hoping for reissues of Fantastic and Make It Big but I don't think George would sign off to it "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

I'm also mad that song "Blue (Armed with Love)" ain't included on the collection... I listened to that on TUMBLR not too long ago. Groovy song.

wasn't that on one of the compilations? there's also a live version of it. i think the studio version was only on the b side of club tropicana 12" and the live version was on a compilation, or maybe it was the other way around
the live at wembley and wham in china videos etc would be good on dvd too
i didn't know the best of wham was rereleased in japan with extra trax on the dvd, that totally missed me
i didn't even know there was a video for where does your heart go, and i thought i had everything. i have some incredbible rare and unreleased GM stuff. all the original 12"s too, including the jerry wexler mix of careless whisper - and i have the video of the wexler mix which is completely different

I was just listening to Careless Whisper the other day. Song is timeless and stil sounds good today.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I put on some Wham yesterday too, I was a toddler and jamming to those songs

I'm thinking this might not be released in the US and I know the import prices are going to be ridiculous. [Edited 11/2/11 9:31am]

I wouldn't have known about the Wham! hits collection being re-released if I wasn't part of a fan forum It was released in 2009
Disc 1 1. If You Were There
Disc 2 (DVD) 1 Wham! Rap
I recently made a compilation of the songs that were supposed to be on Listen Without Prejudice 2 and I also have 2 songs that were from the Fantastic sessions (Soul Boy and Golden Soul, which were later used on Boogie Box High's album)
The original video of Careless Whisper has a cameo by Andrew Ridgeley, which they edited out of the final version "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

i made my own vol 2 in the 90s but didn't have the unreleased tracks on it. one or two appeared a year or 2 ago but i missed one of them i think. i don't have soulboy and golden soul either. most of the outtakes i have are alternate mixes rather than new songs

So far, I have Too Funky Do You Really Want To Know Happy Fantasy Crazyman Dance Disco Pieces (Instrumental version) Ain't No Stoppin' Us Now
Soul Boy and Golden Soul are okay, but nothing really to call home about. He later gave them to his cousin for the Boogie Box High album
"We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

I believe that it was included on the double album vinyl version of The Final but due to time constraints it was dropped from the cd.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Thats what I remember.
The studio version with less lyrics was the Club Tropicana B-side, then a live version with verses was added to this and Music From The Edge of Heaven. .
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
that sounds about right. i have edge of heaven on cd, US import but i had to rip the studio version from vinyl
