It's not sexist. She's great just not as big. Sticky & Sweet isn't the most successful tour by a solo artist. It's the 2nd. And by big I mean studio wise. anybody with a world known name came have a big tour. Doesn't mean the albums sell

Ill post this AGAIN
Confessions: 8 - 12 millions sold
The Sticky & Sweet Tour broke many records in terms of its ticket sales, commercial gross and audience attendance. After the first leg, it became the highest grossing tour by a solo artist, earning $282 million, breaking the previous record Madonna herself held with her Confessions Tour. Overall, Madonna performed to over 3.5 million fans in 32 countries, grossing a total of US$408 million, making it also the fourth highest grossing tour of all time, only behind U2's U2 360° Tour, AC/DC's Black Ice World Tour and The Rolling Stones's A Bigger Bang Tour. It still remains the highest grossing tour by a solo artist. At the 2009 Billboard Touring Awards, the Sticky & Sweet Tour won the Top Tour and Top Draw prizes, which acknowledge the highest-grossing and highest-attended tours of the year, respectively. Madonna's manager Guy Oseary won the Top Manager award.

Tours mean alot more success these days then album sales, even still 25+ years into her career she still got a top 5 single and a #1 album. 2012: The Queen Returns

More successful tours??
Best selling music artists of all time (data for 2006)
The most successful solo act, obviously, Jackson OR Presley. But I can not decide who exactly.
Sorry, Timmy! [Edited 10/23/11 10:49am]

When you have some of the biggest acts of the day on one song, I would expect it to. However, "Crazy For You" still gets healthy recurrent airplay and has gone on to become an AC staple...I can't recall the last time I heard "We Are the World" played anywhere. Probably not since before the 1990s.

What's ironic about Donna not participating is....
Her 1982 song "State Of Independence" (produced by Quincy Jones) is actually where Quincy got the inspiration for 'We Are The World' For that song,he assembled an "all-star choir" and it worked out so well,he did the exact same thing for We Are The World.

as for Rick James.....I know he was cool with Quincy and Michael but with his wild reputation, they probably didn't wanna bring any controversy to this project

Sorry, but you studied in school economics and marketing??
The number of spectators at the concerts - more than a constant. And Michael is strongly superior in this aspect.
We're talking about different things, but both are correct. [Edited 10/23/11 11:16am]

Was she at the American Music Awards that year? I think WATW happened partly because all those artists were there for that show or the Grammys or whatever it was.
BUt yeah in retrospect, having La Toya and Randy--not to mention Dan Akroyd!!--and not Madonna seems a bit of a mistake My Legacy
