The songs are too long!

It seems like she did "Directors Cut" for seed money for her record label, and just to see how many copies it would sell. She prob. already had this one finished and delayed releasing it.

What's next.... a concert?

I was fairly meh about this at first because I'm not a great fan of winter themed albums but now I'm intrigued by the track lengths if nothing else.

Oh well, with Kate I guess you have to expect the unexpected. lol

Aerial was so disappointing and bland it should have come with a warning label. The length of the new songs raises concerns but I'm hoping she can recapture the magic and allure of old.

I'm hoping she will carry on in the vein of the "Moments of pleasure" re-recording.

Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!! Although I wasn't really that impressed with "Director's Cut," this is fantastic news and we don't end up having to wait another 12 years for a new album! Whoo HOO! LOVE ME some Kate! smile

This wee update from http://www.katebushnews.com/

As the reality sinks in that we have a new album on the way so soon after Director’s Cut, a couple of artists on 50 Words For Snow have tweeted about their involvement.

Stephen Fry

Stephen Fry tweeted on September 2nd: “Just done a lovely amazing recording thing with a lively amazing musician. Wish I could say more but bound by secrecy for the moment.” Today he confirms his involvement in the new album: “Tweeted that I did a secret recording 10 days ago: can now reveal it was this with the divine Kate Bush”. He included a link to the official site news.

Stefan RobertsStefan Roberts is a 19 year old singer who has sang with the Choir of Magdalen College, Oxford and part time with Norwich Cathedral choir. He is now at York Minster. He tweeted the following yesterday: “Yay!!! The Kate Bush album I’m on has been given a release date!!…I’m singing with Kate bush on her new album….I’m singing solo on one of the tracks with her…It’s SO nice to be able to talk about it finally!!”

I am very interested to hear what Stephen Fry's involvement will be.

You know, my bf recently had me give Aerial another go as I also thought it was quite boring, and it has aged really well. The disc with the songs "Nocturn" an "Aerial" is really stunning and beautiful. It was the soundtrack to a drive we took to Palm Springs a couple of weeks ago and it had a perfect summer feel to it. I finally "got," it.

Hoping this new record is along the same lines.
