CHILE!!!!
Woah I never thought that their sets would be revamped like this. I only own about 3 Earth Wind and Fire albums "Gratitude" "That's The Way Of The World" and "Last Days And Time".
Mostly it is because I found their albums to be ... not consistant track through track...at least the ones I own. Straight Jacket Funk Affair

With "That's The Way of the World," their creativity really started to blossom. My favorite album by them is "All N' All." It is perfect from start to finish and every track could have been a hit. The same goes for "I Am," "Spirit," and "Raise" are all excellent projects. If you want a good overview of their progression, I would suggest you invest in this box set.
To me, it's a great overview of their albums. It is the set that made me fall in love with them. It is missing a few key singles, but nonetheless, it's still a great set. Especially the outtakes and live trax.

I second that! The Eternal Dance is a fantastic collection of Earth, Wind & Fire's musical versatility and progression, even though it does miss a few key singles and album cuts that were just remarkable. I think that their work from 1971-1981 is essential, but their key period starts at '72 in my humble opinion when Last Days And Time came out. When they shifted over to Columbia Records, things began to gel perfectly all the way to 1981, then they burned out...big time! Check me out and add me on:

VERY NICE collection! I took a listen to some samples of tunes I havent heard of. THis looks like a good set. I already know the greatest Hits tunes on those collections so this one actually looks like a more retrospecive work that takes the best non-single tunes and put them in a nice order so that one doesnt have to go buy all the albums. Ill try to take a listen to All N All one of these days when I go to the weka stow. This collection looks HOT though and sounds nice. Was Happy Feelin' ever a single? Straight Jacket Funk Affair

Here's one my faves from the Elements. Shout out to my brother Dennis for putting me onto real music in my youth. Verdine's bass work towards the end still kills! Maurice's kalimba intro is beautiful. Enjoy the journey ya'll:

I almost dropped from my chair when I read that
seriously, Stevie or Prince aside, for me there is no other artist that can compete with EWF in consistency during their heyday
paisleypark4, it's really worth digging deeper here, the albums David mentioned would be essential for a start, but hell, just get that damn box set, it's the perfect opportunity

Has anyone purchased pre-ordered music from Amazon? If I buy before the release am I locking in that price in case it goes up, and still reserve the right to get a lower price if it is offered prior to shipment?
Also, do they charge your credit card prior to shipment? Or do they place a hold on it, or do they wait until shipping to charge your credit card.
I really really want this box set... and I think I may buy one for my mother for christmas as well. She loved EWF "Remember, one man's filler is another man's killer" -- Haystack

I'm not sure how they do it for music, but last Christmas, I ordered a television that was sold out and on backorder. In the email they sent me, they said if the price was lowered before shipment, they would charge me the lower price.
I know they don't charge your card until the item ships. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

When ever you pre-order an item on Amazon, I know that they won't charge you yet and they usually charge for the lower price instead of charging for a new price. They do that with all of their pre-ordered, backordered or in-stock items. So no need to worry! Check me out and add me on:

Come to the Pop Market: Complete Collections Due From ELO, EWF, Cohen, Simone, Desmond and More
Most exciting may be Earth Wind & Fire’s Complete Columbia Masters Collection. Group leader Maurice White has supervised this assemblage of 15 newly-remastered original albums, and has also offered commentary in the 40-page booklet to be included. A bonus disc, Constellations: The Universe of Earth, Wind and Fire, will offer two unreleased tracks from the Touch the World sessions, two live performances dating from 1980, two rare instrumentals, and White’s outside productions for artists as diverse as Neil Diamond, Barbra Streisand, Ramsey Lewis and Jennifer Holliday. The 2000 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees and six-time Grammy Award winners formed in 1969, releasing their first album Earth, Wind, Fire in 1971 for Warner Bros. Records. But it was a 1972 move to Columbia that began the band on its path to chart domination. By the time of 1975’s That’s the Way of the World, the band was one of the biggest in the world thanks to the success of that album’s title track and the song “Shining Star.” Though the line-up has changed over the years, Earth Wind & Fire still tours today.

Columbia did it again, did anyone notice the BOX SET TRACKLISTING doesn't include the bonus demo/outtake tracks from the original classics sets & remaster reissues? Abort abort!! I am not paying 64 dollars for coasters of Touch the World and Heritage. Let's be honest, these projects aren't ones to hoot about. Buy the original remaster classic sets instead. Columbia are so shiesty, holy shit. You can't tell me they didn't do this on purpose either. What could be the reason for not including these? I have a theory, Columbia thinks the EWF listeners are suckers. There is plenty of time on these discs to tack on the bonus tracks from the remasters. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

I agree, they really should have included the bonus tracks on these discs. Also, the 16th disc looks disappointing to me.I was expecting alot of rarities and goodies.

It doesn't have "Dreams" "Caribou Chaser" That's better than ANY of the bonus disc I bet. Man, who cares about Touch the World outtakes or Streisand collabs? Jesus Christ, if I worked at Columbia I'd do some firing. The first one to go is who told Maurice White it was a good idea to not include the bonus tracks from the reissues. Columbia is so goddamn shady. Anyone who disagrees with me, you are a sucker. If Maurice White did this on purpose, he should be criticized too.

You feelin' this too huh! This my favorite EWF album, but you gotta check out "Faces" such an underrated album. I called a couple of my local record stores & they're baffled about this release, as they've never heard zilch about it. I also explained it's on EWF's official website so I would have to believe it's release. I own all of the music up til 1983 & one album after that & if I can get better, than i'm all for it. I've checked other big online retailers & it's not listed on there sites, so i'm thinkin' this may end up as a holiday release.

Small and round, 120mm diameter. I'd say it's made of polycarbonate but I'm not sure about that.

I'm still planning on buying this collection off Amazon since I don't have many EWF albums on CD. I had them on vinyl too many years to mention ago... "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato
