Soul Alive is my dude but i agree i like these two songs too. I dig the hell out of Party Train and whenever i saw the Gap Band in concert this was always one of the songs that got the crowd going. With ConFunkShun i think they wanted to get back to uptempo grooves after the Eumir Deodato penned songs Baby, I'm Hooked and the tepid Don't Let Your Love Grow Cold which sounds like something he forgot to give Kool & The Gang. I guess i liked the synths on Electric Lady and it was something different for CFS at the time but it did sound too much like Cameo. The song was the brainchild of Whodini's producer Larry Smith. The 12 inch version of Electric Lady was killer. Electric Lady isn't one of my CFS essential songs to listen to but during it's time it was fire. I actually dig She's A Star from Burnin Love a lot better with Cooper doing the rap vocals on that one too. Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint

Exactly. There is so much more and better music from Stevie. I saw him at a music festival so this wasn't necessarily a Stevie crowd. But damn...they should have known better. These weren't teenagers, these were grown-folk in the crowd. [Edited 6/10/11 20:18pm]

Love Shack anyone?????? Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

Ugh, that song used to be my favorite. Now I shrug whenever I listen to it. They definitely had more material...
