"Dancing On The Ceiling" by Lionel Richie

There are no words to describe how awful this song is disbelief One of the worst songs of the 80s.

I've heard worse but that one's pretty horrible.

"Master Blaster (Jammin)" by Stevie Wonder boxed

Stevie Wonder is my favorite artist but I can't stand this song.I still insist that he should have kept "Let's Get Serious" for himself, placed it on the 'Hotter Than July' album and released it as the first single.

I like Master Blaster but i can understand how it can get old quick with the monotonous

groove. Now the one song i hate by Stevie is Part Time Lover. Ah man that is pure

barfarama.

That one's definately awful.

The first entry on this list that I would disagree with. The HTJ album couldn't be more perfect for me. ("You might have the cash, but you can't cash in your face!" heeeee) Couldn't you have picked The Woman in Red, or something?

I always loved "Let's Get Serious," but now I can't stop thinking about what it would have been like if Steveland had kept if for himsef. I wonder if there is a demo or live performance with Stevie doing LGS hiding out somewhere.

my favorite part of that song is the bridge, which features Stevie lol he tears into that lyric so powerfully.....more so than Jermaine could have.So I know that he could have done a superb job on that song.

OMG. For this guy to go from singing songs like "Zoom" with the Commodores to this mess is beyond words. He should be slapped once every day for this. They used to seriously play this to death like it was a serious jam.

I think you could get any secret out of me if you locked me up in a room and blasted this in my ear. I would be like " I'll tell you" "I'll tell you" just please cut this damn song off...lol

it's the most soul-less thing that Lionel has ever recorded.Just ten years earlier,he was doing stuff like "Fancy Dancer" and "Brick House"!

"Electric Lady" by Con Funk Shun---the lyrics are so dumb disbelief plus, this sounds like a bad Cameo rip-off.

"Party Train" by The Gap Band---When they released this song, that's when I knew that they were running out of ideas.Previous hits like "Burn Rubber" and "You Dropped A Bomb On Me" were cleverly written and very edgy. But then they had to ruin their hot streak with this lame, formulaic track. This whole concept was better executed by Heatwave in 1978 ("The Groove Line").

I wouldn't use the word "hate". That's too negative a word, especially describing music. But I wasn't interested in these:

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I'm thinking something must've put some sugar on their musical tank. Weren't they called Raw Soul at one point? They might've had a really different sound than the sound they created ONCE they got signed. neutral But those two songs are nail biters. disbelief

Sugar in their tank is right. There's not a function that I got to where at least one of those tracks don't pop up lol

Yeah and that's probably why I don't attend a family cookout least in Virginia. If I did, I probably would hear that shit. neutral I could've sworn I was in VA with my family as a baby and they played Maze. I don't know what it was about those songs but I got the heebie jeebies hearing Frankie's voice caterwauling me to death. lol

"This Is How We Do It" by Montell Jordan---I heard this in a club last week and I wanted to hit the DJ lol I always hated this song! For some reason,it reminds me of one of those stupid MC Hammer songs.

This gets my vote too. It came out spring sememster of my freshman year in college. I remember it well because this song was on the radio every damn day. I never liked it.

I'll dance to it with everyone else, if it comes on in a mix with Slick Rick, but if it's on the radio- it's getting switched.

I don't really consider anything old school unless it's before 1985 and I can't really think of anything (on the R&B side of the fence) before 1985 that I don't like.

Now, for those who consider old school to go on up until the end of the 1980s, well, that's easy. Any and everything by Shitney Houston, Anita Faker, Deady Jackson, and folks like them. But a song that I have always hated from a group that used to be good, was that damn "Secret Lovers" by Atlantic Star.

Yep! You can add that too my list too. And I like Atlantic Starr, but damn!
