"Is This The Gayest Music Video Of The '80s?"

Hmmm... that's hugely debatable...lol

  1. Pete Burns was at his most sexual (and most androgynous) peak in the video (1986 Pete would've gotten the business, ya heard me?!?! lol nod )
  2. The guys in the video look like they're getting hard just looking at them and some commence to ripping off their shirts lol
  3. Even the way the guys pass by the other Dead or Alive members with baseball bats has some kind of sexual machoism mixed with the glam and androgyny, a weird but interesting combination.
  4. Pete dancing like a stripper lol

I don't know about it being "the gayest" but it's up there, but don't forget this video:

lol

Wham!'s early videos were sexually ambiguous for the most part. I think if you term off which one was pro-queer/gay, then it would've had to have been "Wake Me Up" and George in solo moments having his "gurrrrrrl" moments. lol Same thing with Culture Club for instance. Girls thought they could have their way with the two Georges (George Michael and Boy George) and Pete without realizing their histories. George MICHAEL remained ambiguous until around 1996. Boy George didn't take long to confirm not only was he a "drag queen" but he was uber-gay himself around the time Culture Club broke up the first time.

I have to vote for that one right after Frankie Goes to Hollywood's Relax. Dancing With The Stars Judge Bruno Tonioli was a feature dancer in this Elton John video.

You know, I never thought I would say this but after watching some of these videos I have to wonder if those on the religious right were correct when they were hysterical about the homosexual agenda that was being, ahem, shoved down the country's throat. Those are some extremely gay music videos!

Certainly nowhere near the level of the heterosexual agenda being shoved down the country's throat, or the world's throat; for that matter.

..actually I thought this thread was going to point out Billy Squier's video for "Rock Me Tonight"... That's the video that pretty much ruined his career.
