^ lol Yeah like I said I doubt EVERY Britney fan is that mad and people just need to chill. Besides I don't even get why they're compared. To me they're completely different from one another.

Britney and Gaga are alike as far as them both being pop girls and Gaga is now what Britney USED to be just keeping it real. But they two different artists, the little monsters and Britney fans just ruin it for everybody Gaga and Britney actually like each other.

Yeah, that's real dumb. Trying to start a war when the two artists don't even hate each other. I bet they wanna curse their stans out right now behind the scenes.

I think the 3 bonus tracks included as sort of a director's cut version of the album works a lot better than the edited version. It feels similar in scope to something like Sign o the Times with it being sort of a cornucopia of ideas and sounds. People have criticized it for being too much like a compilation of singles. I'm not sure what that means other than that they're all great songs in their own right. I feel all the tracks have this dark, anti-pop quality to them even when they are desperately pop melodies ("Fashion of His Love", "The Queen", "Bad Kids"). The only songs I really skip are "Electric Chapel", "Bad Kids", and "Hair" but I like those songs, too. I just tend to want to play "Heavy Metal Lover" about 5 times in a row.

Gaga is a totally different style from Britney, they are nothing alike. Britney was simpleton pop, Gaga is electro pop with different influences and far from cookie cutter or being the girl next door.

The Britney fans are freaking the f_ck out. lol

It was amazon's decision to do the promotion--not Gaga's. Gaga's album is more sustainable anyways--the material is strong enough to promote. shrug

Lady Gaga talks money, monsters and Madonna in a recent interview with Stephen Fry.

On Madonna:
“I genuinely love her so much. I think she is so amazing. She could never be replicated and, yes, I’m Italian, I’m from New York, and not for nothing, it’s not my fault that I kind of look like her, right? So, look, if anything, it’s more annoying to me that people would insinuate that I don’t like to be compared to her… She’s wonderful and inspiring and liberating, and she’s certainly inspired my album, as did David Bowie, as did Prince, as did Michael Jackson, as did Grace Jones, and I would never take that away.”

On money:
“It’s honestly true that money means nothing to me. The only big things I’ve purchased are my dad’s heart valve and a Rolls-Royce for my parents, for their anniversary. And that was only because my dad had a Lady Gaga licence plate on our old car and it was making me crazy because he was getting followed everywhere, so I bought him a new car. Other than that I put everything in the show, and I actually went bankrupt after the first extension of The Monster Ball.”

On fans:
“I sent them hot chocolate yesterday, and macaroons, and then today I had press all day and I felt a bit bad because I wouldn’t have much of a chance to go down and say hello. But I did manage to go down and brought them some fresh cookies and flowers. <…> Little Monsters are a community. It’s kind of nice that wherever I go they create a little home for me. [Source]

I don't know, they could be pretty intense and entertaining. lol

Not to be sycophantic, because I don't really dig this Gaga album, but I at least get why her stuff's being discussed. Britney's not relevant anymore, is she? If she's not doing crazy shit in her personal life anymore I'm not sure what the point of her is, as a celeb.

She is still relevant as she still produces hits and always has. Probably always will as she is branded now.

Right now, Christina Aguilera is really desperately fighting for relevance as is Beyonce. These ladies are having to redefine themselves in a post-Gaga world.

EEk, the album has a 3 & a half by people on Amazon and the albums got mixed reviews but hey, i find those albums that get mixed opinions like that are unique and obviously got people going wink, but looking at the those first week sales i don't think it will drop off anytime soon.

Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

It really looks like Gaga is the big star right now of the world smile smile smile And more deserving than Beyonce, it was her last decade, and now it's Gaga.

Sales results of Born This Way so far:

Australia: 70,000 (#1 debut) - resulting in album going platinum (I believe it's 40,000 to go platinum)

UK: 215,000 (#1 debut) - I think that results in the album going gold

It's #5 on the Dutch chart, #2 in Finland and #1 in Ireland and Sweden. It's also #10 on Billboard's Dance/Electronic chart.

I'll go ahead and say it.

The Fame is a better album than Madonna.

Born This Way is a better album than True Blue.

If Baby Gaga continues this streak, Mother Madge is going to be eating her dust by the time she makes her own version of Like A Prayer.

too much euphoria, perhaps?? eek lol

Just Dance, PokerFace, Paparazzi better than Lucky Star, Borderline and Holiday???

Edge of Glory, Judas and Born This Way better than Live to Tell, Open Your Heart and Papa Don'T Preach???? wow, no chance in hell lol

I admit that The Fame is WAY better than Like a Virgin and Born This Way probably better than Erotica but that's all...

and Mother Magde plays in another league, she's a LEGEND, she plays with the Stones, Elton, McCartney, Stevie, etc. She CANNOT bite the dust at this point. She can retire if she wants but she cannot be beaten. That's the difference between a hot/contemporary NEW artist (GaGa) and a veteran LEGEND.

and I DOUBT that GaGa will produce, in the future, something like Like a Prayer, Oh Father, Rain or Ray of Light. GaGa is too campy/hardcore electronic/weird for that...

You can't possibly prescribe what they will do in the future. BTW proves she has a wide pallette.

I'm not gonna get into a breakdown, but taken as albums, LG's are better IMO! I've said earlier in this thread I'm not a fan of "Live To Tell" so on that album it leaves the title track and "La Isla Bonita" for me.

More like "stop". There's no "getting over". Obviously no matter what she does, they're gonna compare her to Madonna so whatever. Let the divas live lol
