No Joe still lives in Vegas. He hasn't been in Hayvenhurst for YEARS. He's only in Hayvenhurst for PR reasons. He may even try to sell the home (but the estate won't let him since the estate is in control of the house...OOPS).

Alejandra -- who has children with both Randy and Jermaine Jackson -- has refused to leave ... arguing, among other things, that Michael would have wanted her to stay there.

Alejandra has claimed the estate has tried to literally starve her out of house and home ... by removing all of the food from the property and changing the locks on her.

A hearing is scheduled for Tuesday.

Just like any other artist out there who writes a lot of love songs or even R.Kelly who has some interesting song about sex or whatever. I mean...that's who he is, as an artist. They are not machines. They are human beings who are just utilizing their art to express themselves...as well as to sell.

i happen to be one of those people who do like academic writings about music. i consider everything to be political, so music for me, carries those values. i see michael and his art in a completely socio-political framework, which is why i found vogel's comments on michael's political sensibilities compelling. because i don't see many people writing about that at all.

i DO agree with you however, that publications like pitchfork are a bit pretentious, and only like certain pieces of music if it fills a certain characteristic. but music is subjective, as all art is. for some, music has a political connotation. others love speaking about the technical aspects. i happen to love both. i think there SHOULD be more writings about the meat of michael's art, as opposed to the superficial stuff.

that's what i loved about swedien's book as well. he spoke about everything from an engineering standpoint.

There's few artists who reviews I don't bother with. Michael is one of those artists. Pitchfork's reviews of him come with a obvious bias, such as saying his music post 1985 is unlistenable, and throwing jabs at him while praising other artists

Thinking about it now, I rarely read reviews from publications like Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, Vibe and others on any of my favorite artists because they aren't going to cloud my judgement on the music. I rather have my opinions than have them laid upon me by people who aren't going to appreciate it or get the context....
