Erotica is definately my favourite Madonna album, love the whole dark vibe and edginess of it. The production on the song 'Erotica' is amazing, so many layers. It was a total change from her usual 'pop' sound. Some of the tracks sound dated (Bye Bye Baby, Words, Deeper & Deeper) but tracks like 'Secret Garden' and 'Erotica' were ahead of their time in many ways. There are loads of great remixes from this time too (Erotica -KenLou B-Boy Mix, Deeper & Deeper -David's Klub Mix, Fever -Edit One)

A great era, musically.

My top 5 Madonna songs:

1. Vogue

2. Express Yourself

3. Erotica

4. Get Together

5. La Isla Bonita

Top 5 albums:

1. Erotica

2. Confessions On A Dance Floor

3. American Life

4. Ray Of Light

5. True Blue

OK, I gave Erotica yet another spin and it IS better than I remember. I still don't think it's one of her better albums, but I do think it's better than, say, Bedtime Stories and True Blue.

I don't hate Bedtime Stories, but it's not a favorite.

"Why's It So Hard" hit me more than it ever has before. I even enjoyed "Thief of Hearts" and "Words" this time around. "Bye Bye Baby" isn't as terrible as I usually say it is, but it still isn't a good song.

I think Bedtime Stories was one of Madonna's better albums. It was the first time in her recorded career, since after the debut, that she released an album that implored the listener to focus on the music rather than controversy or an opening shock tactic. I think it was a big improvement over Erotica.

I was never a big Madonna fan but her material has always been solid and enjoyable i can't think of one person who does not like at least one Madonna song.

You can be a full blown metal head or into hip hop there is a Madonna song that you bop your head to

Compared to Lady Gaga

Madonna is a genius with her music her material is something memorable

Who can forget Borderline, Like a Virgin, Express Yourself, Vogue and Holiday

Madonna had a message behind the songs she created

Besides Born This Way what solid material has Gaga done two years and is Pokerface is what you imagine playing in the next 50 years whereas Holiday will be played in the next 50 years because it is something you can releate too.

Icons are made my writing songs that people can relate to in their time the biggest icons did songs you can remember.

That is what Lady Gaga does not get you can't be an icon by being a gimmick
