I didn't really care for American Pie, the video or her version of the song. I like the Don McLean original though. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. Best: Tough. She's actually had some great videos. Material Girl, Oh Father, Vogue, Frozen, Rain (though I hate that song)

What It Feels Like For A Girl---What a wasted opportunity.She could have done something really amazing with this video. American Life (the flag version)---This video is pointless.She should have released the original video (which is excellent) or nothing at all.This was a cheap substitute for the real thing.

I just watched it again after years and it's definitely one of her best for sure. The ending made me so emotional and made me feel so angry and sad with what's going on in the world and how people don't give a shit, and I love her whole look and dancing and everything too. I always thought American Life was one of her best albums ever. | |
