I'm going to have to check these out. I know very little about Teena Marie, and what I heard I didn't particularly love. But I know the org gives her lots of love, so I'm sure there are songs I'd quite like!

Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Let'a celebrate his legacy by counting down the most beloved Prince albums, as decided by you!

Questlove tweeted a great playlist.

I have fallen in love with "You Make Love Like Springtime."

Yes, that is another great song! There are so many!

I love seeing everybody's play list. Just the fact that the word "love" comes up in her song titles and what we say about her says so much!

1. Make It Hot

2. If I Were A Bell

3. Naked To The World

4. Love Is A Gangster

5. Since Day One

^ There are sooooooo many to choose from, but these are the ones I've been mostly playin' for the past few months.

Sweet and awesome Lady Tee, my heart is broken and I need you to "Fix It." I'll find you in the music so you can help me put it back together again. God Bless Rose, her mother and all the fans at this difficult time. The world of R&B has lost a true beacon, but her music will shine on eternally. Hopefully, you're up there throwin' down with Rick and teachin' Minnie how to rap. I will always be grateful for the impression you have made on my life with your music and your poetry. You have always been an amazing example of human beauty to me and to so many others. See you in Emerald City where everything you wanna be you have ALREADY BEEN. xo

Hungry? Just look in the mirror and get fed up.

seriousfunk said: Wow, maybe she didnt like that album? lol perhaps she was having a bad day. im just suprised, ive only ever heard positive things about her. Id expect that attitude more from a diva like Whitney Houston lol, not Teena.

No, Teena was fine. She didn't have an attitude or anything like that, not at all. She signed all my stuff, she just didn't have a conversation with me about Emerald City, which I didn't expect her to. The look on her face though when I brought it up was classic. You really had to be there. She was gracious enough to take a picture with me, which turned out really great. Far as I know, Teena loved that album, but was very disappointed her audience didn't get that into it. Disappointed to the point where she seldom/never played any of that material live.

Emerald City is my favorite Teena Marie album i bought it from amazon.com about a year ago. I spent almost 25 dollars for it due to the fact its out of print and i love that album and i'd always hoped i could tell her how much i loved that album. In fact that album had been in my rotation CD playlist sitting my dresser for the last month and a half. I'm only 26 i never got to see her in her prime but im gonna miss her very much. ps her first album with Cash Money in 2004 was good too la dona. OUT on A Limb is my favorite Lady Tee song.

it doesn't get much better than Portuguese Love.

"Portugese Love" is an exotic,latin-flavored,soulful quiet storm MASTERPIECE.The lyrics, the vocals, the music, the feel of this song.Absolutely amazing!! That latin breakdown part just blows my mind.Teena was truly a real artist who was interested in not just creating good songs, but taking the listener on a journey. This song blends soulful R&B with latin jazz and the end result is sheer brilliance.

Word.

1) Portuguese Love

2) Square Biz

3) Fire and Desire
