I actually think that's what really scared them. lol All of a sudden THEIR BABY SISTER, the one they called Dunk, all of a sudden is having number-one hits and becomes an MTV darling whose only competition was Madonna, Whitney Houston (and briefly) Paula Abdul. lol And it's like "well, they REALLY ain't gonna wanna hear from us!" lol I think Rebbie and La Toya sensed the same thing because their careers, while not as successful, didn't fully recover after that and their attempts to come back have been laughable. lol

As a whole that was a talented family just TWO of them really had that extra lol

She surprised the heck out of me lol . I remembered when she used to do this tv series "Fame". You may remember this. She couldn't dance a lick. Stiff as a board. Then one day, I was watching music videos, and saw her do "Control". I was like eek. I found out later that Paula Abdul was her choreographer.

lol I think 3T is talented, although their second album severly suffered from 2 things

*They were still promoting themselves somewhat as a boyband. When it was released in Europe, they appeared on the teen music shows

*Terrible single choices. They released a version of Lionel Richie's "Stuck On You"...the hell?

The album did moderately well overseas but after a couple of months it was done

The first 3T album was a HUGE hit here in the UK. There was at least 4 singles released (Anything, 24/7, I Need You, Gotta Be You), all were hits. They were on TV shows doing interviews and on the radio ALL THE DAMN TIME. I saw them live in my city (Birmingham) and it was sold out.

I don't know what happened, but the second album didn't get a lick of promo in the UK. I understand that it did well in other places in Europe, and I saw a clip on YouTube of a TV interview they did either in the Netherlands or France to promote the second album. But, I pay attention to new music releases and even I didn't hear about it until it had been out for a few month, and then it was only because I made an effort to look for information online about what they were doing.

That second album was still pretty good though. I enjoyed the Lionel cover and the "Sex Appeal" song.

you really think janet was that good? I never thought she had any musical talent to speak of. She was a nice little package though, a very nice one.

I'm actually surprised at the new generation. I thought SOMEONE would at least be the new usher/chris brown. I think the European success of 3T was as far as it went. Most of the new generation are musically inclined or at least striving to be. I figure with their family connections, they could at least get an easy ticket and take it from there in the industry

How are things going with Austin? I know he collaborated with Rodney Jerkins.

The whole thing about the brothers' career being shot down because of Michael success isn't fully convincing. Yes, Michael became a superstar in the 80s, but given the enormous success of the brothers as the Jackson 5... they still had connections in the industry to try acting, producing, songwriting, broadway shows..... anything! At the time, there were still enough hardcore Jackson 5 fans and I'm sure the fans would've follow them wherever they went, as long as they delivered. Despite Michael's enormous fame, they could've still done their own thing by taking a different route (it didn't stop Janet). Not sure if those core Jackson 5 fans are still around. Since it's been over 20 years, they now have to rely on Michael Jackson fans and work off the hype left over from Michael's death.

Id hate to think they were just lazy especially since Joseph whipped their asses into shape by getting to where they peaked. Do you think it was Katherine and Joseph that talked them into staying in that Jackson 5 group mentality not splitting up to do their own thing?

He has a little bit of Michael in him vocally (style-wise). I still think he can make it if he works with the right people and manages to get airplay.

Girl that track been out and it's yet to get airplay. I don't know what is up with the "next generation" Jacksons. They seem to take after some of their parents. They start on something then they either stop or something gets in the way. I can't trust anyone having a project whose last name happens to be "Jackson". That's why I can't really put any support behind it unless I know they're up for it and at least alleviate the legacy left by the Jackson 5/Jacksons, Michael and Janet.

Joe wasn't their manager anymore, if I'm not mistaken. I can't believe the parents actually thought the world cared about a boyband with 30 yr old men. Such wasted opportunity.

Yeah, that single has been out for a while. But isn't he working on an album? I mean he's not completely talentless and has a lot of potential (looks, dancing, singing). That's the thing about the Jacksons, unless you're completely dedicated and are willing to jump the ropes and get your hands dirty... nothing will come through. Austin seems to be sane and serious too. I'd rather see him than that other Dealz dude.

Probably. I dont think it's a great song. It's recycled Michael all around (but so are other singers). It was the only thing I could find on youtube to demonstrate his singing abilities.

And thing is he's actually been working on "establishing" himself since like 2001 with failed results. I think he posted some videos of his music on YouTube from years before he worked with Rodney. Him being signed with Universal, I wouldn't be surprised if they're trying to make him a soulless pop tart much like the so-called "R&B" singers of today. I just wish a Jackson from this generation not fall into trends like that. I'm looking at you Marlon, Jr., Dealz and 'em. rolleyes lol
