Greatest Live performers

who, in your opinion are the greatest live performers in music history?

Obviously Prince is up there, what about others?

Janelle Monae, the best gig i have attended in years.

Bjork, amazing live performer, she puts on a hell of a show.

Erykah Badu, effortless swagger live.

Bat For Lashes, just because i love her, and she is great live.

Spiritualized, among the loudest and mesmerizing gigs i have been to.

Hendrix

Funkadelic

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Seriously, I'd have to go with....MJ, INXS, a certain

little guy who wears a lot purple, and lastly (and especially) David Lee Roth. I saw him

back in 2002, and this guy wasn't a spring chicken age wise, but vocally, physically,

and energy-wise, this guy sounded and performed like it was the 1984 tour.

Another would be Billy Joel, not only does he keep the crowd entertained with

his classic signature songs and voice, but also he tells great stories between songs

that makes the crowd laugh.

Rob & Fab aka Milli Vanilli. They were popular in the late 80's until their producer leaked out the info that they didn't sing on their songs. They later recorded their own album that didn't do anything. This is an interview from around 2007 from the guy on the left Fabrice Morvan (the intro is not in english, but the interview is). The other one (Robert Pilatus) commited suicide years ago.

Besides the names you have I would add Grace Jones. Why?

Stage Presence - She owns it

Hi Jinks- Always doing crazy shit like berating her audience, wearing funny outfits and smoking dope one time recently

Sexuality - Especially in the early days with cage and whip routine, even nowshe wears provocative outfits and flirts with the audience.

Audience - Grace usually has about 500 gay men up the front going apeshit during the show over her.

Durability - Shes 62 now and shes still performing her heart out (Anyone seen the Williams Blood Video where all the guys are on stage with her, and shes twirling about all over the place)

Voice - Actually sings and her voice is powerful and it carries.

So seeing a Grace Jones show is rare treat, fortunately theres a lot on Youtube

So what are u going 2 do? R u just gonna sit there and watch? I'm not gonna stop until the war is over. Its gonna take a long time

Aretha Franklin (early years)

Queen

Sam & Dave

Otis Redding
