Known for disco, but she's done so much more than that. Donna has sung almost every genre under the sun. Her various grammy's account for that...and guess what? Even when there was a disco category for the Grammy...Donna never won in that category. This woman can sing rock with the best of them. It just wasn't so cool for a black female to be in rock and roll back in the 70's. | |

Alot of people like to dismiss them as 'just another disco group' but they don't realize that Chic's sound was very influential in other genres like rock and rap.Listen to Queen's "Another One Bites The Dust" or The Sugarhill Gang's "Rapper's Delight",two important songs from 1980 that borrow heavily from the Chic sound.Duran Duran have been very influential and should be in there soon! | |

In regards to the Bon Jovi hate, meh, whatever. Haven't listened to anything they've done since Slippery When Wet. That was a long ass time ago, and I only listened then because you couldn't escape it. However, whether you like them or not, Bon Jovi are a whole lot more "Rock n' Roll" than Donna Summer (or a lot of the other nominees, both listed by the Hall and proposed by Orgers). | |
