I cant be happy with no2 for MJ when he should have been no1. tsk tsk tsk poor America theyre so phuckin racist. well at least they didnt make themselves look like fools n put him at 40 again lol. but anytime you have dylan at no5, haha what can you expect - a joke. dylan ahead of James brown, yeah right. and showman janet not even in top 100.

Not that these lists are really that important, but being Number Two is a good thing! It places Michael above 98 other artists, why are you complaining?

MJ at #2. falloff

Yes, deservedly so, imo. The joke being had he not died they probably wouldn't have even put him in the top 40.

Cunts.

youre right these lists arent important:-) but still, he should be no1. no.2 is not a good thing if ur really no1. someone said on another board "3 out of 5 people worldwide would put MJ at no1" its racism. should have been mj-1, james-2, stevie-3, prince-4, and beetlebugs-5 haha. but it is afterall vh1. well we need our own list. do u hear me BET?

Number 2 is a good place to be lol That places him above James Brown,Jimi Hendrix,Frank Sinatra,Elvis Presley,Prince and numerous other great artists!! I still don't see a need to complain.

I also have a problem with Justin Timberlake being on this list. In fact, Britney should've made it before JT. I think her contributions to pop music is greater and more influential than his.

I'm not a huge JT fan,but come on....he at least has something that Britney lacks: TALENT lol

The idea of Britney Spears on a "greatest artists of all time" list is absurd.

Realistically, you are right but I think she has actually done more. Like her or not, she is an icon!

How is it racism? Seriously dude, are you really getting mad over some dumb list VH1 made? Who even takes VH1 seriously anymore? lol I like Mj but not at all do I care if he was #3 or #2, do you see me bitching and moaning how Prince wasn't in the top 5 list? God, some of y'all need to chill. And BET has done many top etc etc lists and all of them are just stupid. lol

Wha?

No Fugees?

No Chaka Khan?

No Patti Labelle?

No Eagles?

No Miles Davis?

No Isley Brothers?

P-Funk & The Isley Brothers are the MOST sampled music in hip hop behind James Brown....neutral

Otherwise, I give them props for the list. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

How is it racism? The people who made this list were musicians, not network executives. So race has little if nothing to do with it.

If anything, If I was a huge Michael fan, I'd be offended at the revisionsim. 12 years ago when they did this list, Michael wasn't even in the top 20. Why did he jump all the way to #2 from #40?

Obviously, his death was the main factor in the large jump. You also have to take into affect the younger artists voting that didn't vote the last time.

Also, the last time they did this, Led Zeppelin was #3 and the Rolling Stones were #2. This time The Stones were #4 and Zeppelin was #3. I wonder what's changed that made people vote for Zeppelin over the Stones this time.

JERKIN' EVERYTHING IN SIGHT!!!!!
