I'm really liking this ablum, but Cold War is one of my least favortie tracks. Even so, i think it is a decent song. The video is ok, I guess, but not terribly original.

Doesn't the phrase Cold War mean no fighting?? Just wondering.

I think calling the video anything in the range of "brilliant" is a huge overstatement. I can understand "powerful in its simplicity" but it is not brilliant.

I've really tried to like her but I swear to me, it's like someone read a Superstardom For Dummies book, threw every single example of a superstar in it together, applied it to her natural abilty and just pushed her out there like Wayne Brady. Just not my cup of tea.

I LOVE Janelle Monae and the vid is great. Ok, its not really what i expected but nevertheless still a great vid, i even had watery eyes after watching it.

Thought the song was great

Video was done well also.

But to be honest it def was not done in one take.

You can see the edits or cuts and redo's when the camera goes blury.

This was spliced together from at least three good takes out of how ever many actually were shot to make the video.

and I'm not fully convinced the tear was real either.

But again I must stress that I love this song! Janelle is amazing and inspiring to me.

Her entire album is an overstatement. Her self period is an overstatement. Her music sounds phony, her ideas, everything about this chick comes off as fake. Her producers and album is copy and paste Outkast production by the numbers, no soul or heart on the album. Just like her wack video, it's all staged. The songs on her album lack any real substance, or anything that connects or sticks to people. I'm still waiting for the naked video, for her to shave her head bald, etc to come next.
