Bruce Swedien revealed the singer had completed a powerful track entitled Don't Be Messin' Around. Featuring what was described as a mesmerising solo performance, it is expected to be available to millions of fans once the terms of Jackson's estate are settled. Mr Swedien said of the ballad: "Michael plays piano on it, and it's just beautiful." He added: "Oh my God, there's nothing like it."
That came out around the time they were in the stages of releasing Thriller 25.

So its from the 80's. lol

I would take it as being from the Thriller session, but MJ always reworked old songs during recordings of his later albums. confused

Because Rolling Stones was once primarily a rock and roll magazine. I think they appreciate Prince more as an artist because of the guitar playing.

Although I'm your biggest fan...I'm also your biggest critic. Can you deal with that?

Here's another VERY SHORT...and I mean VERY VERY SHORT snippet. This time it's Don't Be Messin' Around
FINALLY! another demo from the Thriller session! I wish this would have been on the Thriller 25 like planned
Don't Be Messin' Around, well, this version anyway is from 1990. Still, I need to hear the whole thing NOW lol

HOW do you know these things?! mad

The person who has a copy of the track said that this version is from 1990. I downloaded the snippet last week when it first leaked

It's definitely not from the Thriller sessions. One way you can tell is the instrumentation. Michael was using alot of synths on his demos for Thriller. This track's instrumentation is almost the same as Cheater, which was recorded in 1986-87

The tag on the snippet was

ARTIST: MICHAEL JACKSON
ALBUM: UNRELEASED
GENRE: Blues
Date: 1990
Publisher: Easy Audio Cutter - Koyote Soft
Comments: SNIPPET - WESTVIKING STUDIOS

the same person who leaked the snippet of Can't Get You Off My Mind recently is the same person who leaked this

There most likely was a version from the Thriller sessions, but this one is from Dangerous

I'm surprised he is only mentioned twice - but not even looking at the list I assume they would be for Billie Jean and Don't Stop Til You Get Enough.

As for Thriller - we can all probably agree its a good song but not a great song. Just because it was the biggest selling album doesn't mean that every song on there warrants being on the greatest list.

Also just to clarify - this was a list done back in 2004 - when it wasn't as cool for critics to like MJ. Would be interesting to see how he would fare these days with a new found appreciation for his art.

Actually, they were Beat It And Billie Jean. DSTYGE shoulda totally been on there. ¬¬

Personally...I think Thriller is great. Music video and all. It raised the bar and set a standard. Granted, it's not the best song MJ ever did, but it's still a great song and it deserves credit. Just my two cents.

And this list I found for RS was in the bookstore and it was dated recently. I don't think it's the list from 2004. The list from then had some J5 songs in it, I believe. Had 2, "I Want You Back" and "ABC" or "The Love You Save" (one of the two). These were not mentioned this time around.

RS never, ever had a respect for MJ. To this day, they still don't. As far as I'm concerned, they're just a bunch of self-righteous know-it-alls who think they understand the music world and it's talents. I've read some of their so-called tributes to MJ after June 25, and was horrified by how they wrote about him. They still tried to portray him as a misfit or freak. They learned nothing, and they're repentant for nothing. disbelief Their loss....and if karma exists, I hope it fixes their wagons. hmph!

Michael Jackson's Trust Lacks Trust in Kids

Michael Jackson apparently learned a lesson in finances -- his kids should not fall victim to consumer temptations that caused Michael himself to teeter on the brink of bankruptcy -- this, according to the details of the strings he attached to his children's inheritance.

News of the World got a copy of the Michael Jackson trust. TMZ broke the story ... under the trust the kids would get 40% of Michael's estate, Kartherine Jackson would get the use of 40% during her lifetime (when she dies the remainder of her share goes to the kids) and the final 20% goes to charity.

Here's what's interesting ... that we didn't know until now. Under the trust, Prince, Paris and Blanket have no control of the money until they are 30 years old ... until they turn 30 they just get income -- almost like an allowance -- determined solely by the trustee. When each of the kids turns 30, the trustees must then give them 1/3 of their share outright. When the kids reach 35, they get 1/2 of their share outright.

At age 40, the kids then get what remains of their share -- outright.

We've already published the will -- different from the trust. The will refers to the trust but the trust document has not been public until now.

As for how much the kids will get, that amount grows every month, as executorsJohn Branca and John McClain wheel and deal in business ventures that include concerts, movies and song releases.

To this day, when I think about a world without Michael in it, and try hard to wrap my mind around him no longer living, it gives me chills, it feels like a punch a stomach, and it makes me shake my head. I end up having to distract myself from those thoughts after not very long. Michael mattered to his fans, and its so refreshing to see this thread alive and well at page 13, on a Prince site. I'd like to think Michael is smiling about that wherever he is, that some of his most loyal fans are discussing him, praising him, and sending him all kinds of love on a Prince site. Someone cue the clip from Moonwalker. "A Prince t-shirt?" lol Seriously, thank you guys for being here. These threads have been my home since last summer.

Still, I need to hear the whole thing NOW lol HOW do you know these things?! mad LOL, I highly doubt that this version is from the 90's , it sounds its like from the thriller sessions , the 80's.

So its from the 80's. lol

I would take it as being from the Thriller session, but MJ always reworked old songs during recordings of his later albums. confused

lol confused I agree. lol

The song has been re-recorded in 2008 with producer Buxer.

Nah, I don't think so. DBMA wasn't re-recorded in 2008. It's not listed with the other songs he did with Buxer.

Songs MJ recorded with Producer Bradley Buxer Prior to His death.

I'm glad he's being discussed too but it's really not the same. I'm finding it hard to enjoy him and feel happiness like before and just get depressed all the time about everything they did to him even though it's over.

These songs are NOT from 2008/2009!!! It's just that most people (especially so-called "journalists" weren't aware of these titles).

All these songs are from different dates, e.g. "Wonderful World Of Candy" was recorded in 2003, "Thank Heaven" is from 1998 or "Neverland Landing" is even from 1988 (BAD era).

So please careful with blogs, "journalists" and fan forums. Most people have no clue about what they are actually talking about. I've seen many people thinking that these would be new songs MJ did prior to his tragic passing, but that's complete bullshit.

wink

Listen to the instrumentation. That sounds SOOO 1987-90 esque AND the tags on the snippet said 1990. Dude, trust me, you know I rarely mess up when it comes to recording dates lol

Do you guys think that Michael Jackson named his son "Prince" after the Artist? Or the prince of Bahrrain (spelling)? I really have no clue.

He named him after his maternal grandfather and great-grandfather, Prince Albert Scruse.
