Mong

I knew Ricky was gay ever since I sucked his cock.

God, couldn't he have just said "I'm gay" instead of all that pretentious pre-amble shit? All that stuff proves to me that nobody will ever be up his ass as much as he is.

Now is he finally going to rerecord it as "He's All I Ever Had"?

I love how everyone is so very cynical about what is actually a pretty heartfelt message from Ricky. Regardless of how much everyone knew it was true, it's nice to see.

It's sobering to think that 25 years ago, there were no memoirs and Rock Hudson was being outed by AIDS. So, we're making progress.

My gaydar was in full swing the first time I saw him on some MTV-awards show during his commercial heyday...something about his dance moves and general mannerisms, I guess...

But hey, good for him, everybody has a right to be happy, hetero, homo whatever biggrin

All that counts is that you're happy and living your life to the fullest!

This isn't that shocking, less so than Clay Aiken or Melissa Etheridge coming out. I say that only because he's long side stepped the sexuality question. And didn't he come out as bisexual last year or something? Any straight guy will flat out say "I'm straight". Gay people side step the issue a lot of times.

yeah.

sadly, we live in an increasingly cynical world. it should be a non-issue, but i don't think mocking someone who comes out is going to help that, but... it could be worse i suppose.

A wee bit harsh LOL. "Livin' la Vida Loca" is a great pop song. Overplayed like hell at the time though.

Let me just say despite my sarcasm, I was not being cynical. I hate cynicism. It isn't much of a surprise though. And I thought he came out as bisexual last year or something? Hmmm, don't remember.

But living honestly is the best way to maneuver through life. I'm glad he's at that place now.

Not-so-shocking-admission: Ricky is allergic to vaginas. These pics were an obvious giveaway.

Identity, how can you post those without the key one?

I thought this was the key one.

Yes, indeed! Good for him. Some people may have known. Those close to him, I mean. And those who have never met him may have known (without certainty) because if you don't know a person, you just don't know unless it's painfully obvious:) But no matter who knew, it's always good when you finally speak it out loud yourself to someone other than yourself.

I find his little speach too dramatic and boring for my taste... he is gay so what? big deal

It actually is a big deal. At least, for him and anyone who has had a hard time being gay and coming out publicly. And it's definitely not about who already knew. It's about Ricky and what HE'S feeling and thinking and not anyone else. His speech may be considered too dramatic and boring, but if Ricky wrote what he felt, that's what it's all about. He didn't write it, I don't think, because he didn't know he was gay. He knew. He wrote it, I'd say, to let the public (and his fans mainly, probably) know that he knows and is good with it by speaking about it. It took him long enough, yes, but not everyone is on the same level:)

I have a lot of music and consider myself a pretty passionate music fan. I've become a pretty avid collector and I play piano in addition to learning how to play the bass guitar. I'm also a huge geek and like to make lots of lists (hence the polls, etc.). I have my list of top 2010 songs for 2010 ready to go. lol

That said, I also have a list of my least favorite songs ever. And Ricky tops it with that disgrace to humanity known as "Livin' la Vida Loca". headache

Agreed. I hope we reach the day were those in the gay community don't feel the need to explain why they love who they love. We have a long way to go in the African American community.

Why does Ricky's flair for drama surprise anyone? He's a gay guy duh! Plus, he's also in the entertainment business, so it comes with the territory. Now, all he has to do is come out on Oprah and his mission will be complete. He better hurry before her show goes off the air.

Good for Ricky! I kinda knew he was back in the Menudo days.
Atleast people (media) will leave him alone about it now.
And if the guy in the pic on this beach w/ Ricky is his lover...
MEOW!!!! Hot!
Prince did an interview with a woman at Record World. They talked about whatever, then he asked her: "Does your pubic hair go up to your navel?" At that moment, we thought maybe we shouldn't encourage him to do interviews.
