I'm compiling right now

By the way, to those of you who've expressed some nervousness about contributing: Don't be scared!

This exchange isn't about engineering wizardry, perfect mixes, or giving the crowd what you think they want. It's about sharing what music is special to YOU in some way. The mixes in Round 1 were generally just compilations -- no crossfading, no beats per minute counted, etc. -- with some personal poignance to each orger. And they were awesome. Go for that.

Going first is good for me, because I tend to obsess and tinker with these types of projects endlessly, heh. This will force me to work very fast. I have a sorta rough draft put together, but still need a few more strong songs and then gotta figure out if it works as a mix. But the process is part of the fun

Generally I know which artists I want to use (for the most part), the question is picking the particular songs.

it looks like 8tracks should work ok. This is what I found on the website:

To publish, include at least 8 tracks, no more than 2 of which are from the same artist or album. Track, album and artist names are required.

Our license requires randomized playback the 2nd time a person listens to your mix.


So it seems that the first time you play a mix through, it will be in the correct order, but beyond that the songs will play randomly. Although not ideal, I think this will work OK. Thoughts?

well, i've finished the artwork of mine, and i have progressed well on the mix itself. There is a strong core of about 5 songs I know will be there, then a rotating cast of about a dozen others that are possibilities. And i'm still perusing my collection seeing if i can find something else that works. But the vibe and personality of it has definitely taken shape, and it has a title.

It will be ready to go by 2/8, for sure!
